Did you start the game in Steam offline mode? Or did you link any account to your Steam account? I'm not talking about singleplayer mode. I'm talking about starting the game when I don't have an internet connection or when Steam offline mode is enabled.
For me, the game hangs in Steam offline mode just before the game menu appears and only the word "Profile" is displayed in the lower right corner. Other players have reported the same problem here on the forum. I do not have an account linked to my Steam account and do not wish to do so.
I've disconnected my computer from the net and tried to start the game. Steam launches the game after asking me if i want to, but the game hang when checking the profile.
Unfortunately, it also needs you to be only online in order to play it.They didn't even had the decency to mention that sh*t in the change log.
Uses Denuvo to combat piracy
It's pirates fault
Goes ahead and for no damn reason, they install always online DRM in an 8 years old game
It's pirates fault???? IS IT????
FU SE
I bought the game when it was viable to play without some idiotic online requirement, how the ever-loving-♥♥♥♥ do they get to change the terms post-sale?
Same, except my steam is not in offline mode.
squeenix and whoever is responsible for this can go ♥♥♥♥ themselves.
Denuvo never worked, we kept hearing about how swiftly it could be cracked. And some publishers were smart enough to remove it.
I wouldn't put the EOS crap on pirates. Who even bothers with the MP mode anyway?
As for me, I'm just not going to buy any more SE games if they're going to do this. And keep the games I do have on the older versions that predate this, as well as block EGS' sites
That's one asshatty change, especially considering how old the game already is.
