Explosive arrows?

I got back to this game after not having played it for a while, aaaand i can not for the life of me figure out how to get explosive arrows.

I can't find any hints on how to craft them, i can not find any drops with them (like ammo boxes and such)
Trying to find a search result for how to get explosive arrows just gives me guides/hints at where to find the actual upgrade. But it's the ammo i need so that i can reach the last GPS cache.

It's not required to pick up specific ammo for these as far as I know. You should be able to cycle through your difrerent ammo typs for your bow by re-hitting the '1' key: silent arrows, fire arrows, grenade arrows.... As far as I know all you need is the upgrade on the bow in the gear menu when you go to a camp. Hope that helps.

You cant craft explosive ammo (like Rise), you pick them up off the ground and they are in a wooden ammo crate similar to salvage crates.
the last GPS is on the way up to the research base from shipwreck beach (very high up) there is a crate of explosives on the ground near where you need to climb, this is after you smash drop the elevator to the ground and climb up the elevator shaft manually, hope you find it

I already have it and know how to use it. I just don't have any ammo for it and can't bloody get any.

Thanks for the tip with the ammo.

As for the GPS cache it's by the crashed rescue plane in the valley, not in the research base.
It's on the roof to a hut but the opening to it is blocked by rubble that can only be cleared by explosives.

After you exit the cave containing the wolf den above the aircraft, instead of jumping from the jump off point onto the zipline, go further to the right and up against the low fence and jump (looks a long way but Lara can make it) onto the roof of the shack below to pick up the GPS, if you got this one during first visit here it would have been #5
The barriers you mention can only be broken thru with another weapon that you aquire up in the monastery, you canbreak thru into this building later to retrieve some salvage

Tried it over and over, the location don't work, it's right at the limit where she dies from a fall, and after numerous attempts, it's just clear that it's more about luck than anything. And It'd just be way easier trying to locate ammo than trying to make a leap of faith.
