Smash the keyboard!
I did buy this game couple of hours ago, it seemed like a very good game to me until the "Smash the keys to get it done" gameplay started appearing, for me it did ruin the game, I played until the wolfs den and after failing it 10 times I decided to alt + f4 and uninstall the game. I was hyped to buy and play both Tomb raider games, but this one ruined it.

The QTEs are a bit too saturated; I like the QTEs in the cutscenes, but the stealth melee kills of having to tap X repeatedly to snap their necks is tedious.

Great game, so I can easily bypass this. Hope you can finish it because it's a phenomenal game! I'm replaying it again after four years before I play RotTR.

I noticed that really makes a difference in lag when you adjust the video settings to low in certain parts in the game. Hitting a button and having the game to respond at approximately the same time is quite useful :)

Really, if you haven't tried this, you should, because it's rather a nice a game to play. Even it's starting to look a bit like Assassin's Creed now.
bashing keys ... thats why i dont play it any more ...

No because the part where you have to spam keys to survive a cutscene is very boring, I have played 100+ FPS games and finished them, I have very good aim, I headshot every enemy with the bow on HARD mode with a single arrow, and then I play a cutscene in the wolfs den where I have to watch Lara get eaten brutaly 30+ times by a wolf because I didn't spam the right keys fast enough, that is ruining the rest of the game for me, that could be interested for a kid, but not for me, I just want to play and finish another FPS game on Hard mode. It feels like they implemented Guitar Hero into an Action-Adventure, third person shooter game.

Lara's posture in your thumbnail reminds me of Overwatch's Tracer.

I am not a big fan of qte myself in general, but they are pretty damn easy. I don't understand how one can fail that section so many times. If I remember correctly first you press the left-right directional buttons to free yourself from wolfs grasp, then game will prompt you to press the melee button. You simply have to wait till the bigger circle gets inside the smaller one then press that button. I never noticed any difficulty increase in qte on Normal and hard mode so it pretty much depends on your reflexes.

If for some reason qte are not registering correctly despite you pressing the correct buttons on time you might want to reduce your resolution to 720p and/or play in windowed mode for that particular section. I encountered a similar bug first time I played this game during the fight with the final boss(that huge yamati or something) this fix worked for me.
only thing that took me 3 times is fight with 9 foot dude on boat

I didnt got that I have to wait till circle gets inside circle -.-

Okay ? I was actually talking about OP when he said he failed 10 or so times at this otherwise easy section.

As for the circle thingy. You know that in a lot of other games you simply press the button prompts as soon as the show up on the screen. But in certain QTE sections in tomb raider ( like the one with russian or wolf's den part) when the game prompts you to press melee button ( F on keyboard) you have to wait till the outer circle shrinks inside the middle one. Too early or too late you'll fail. I failed quite a few QTE because I was unaware of this simple fact at first.
thats what am saying but honestly I dont know how I passed that part by not knowing circle thingy

The mashing of button keys really takes away from the game as well as the killing whatever in melee mode. :steamsad: Never fast enough and watching death scenes over and over again gets tedious.

What if you actually hit it correct but the game keep failing you?

I had that issue in hindsight i was still accidently hitting another key during the process... my fix use my other hand to hit the other key that and later on binding left/right to my mices scroll wheel(ps make sure you unbind the other actions bound to it).

I hope there is a special place in hell for game devs who think putting in so many QTEs into a game is a good idea :steammocking:.
