Purist Mode Annoyance
I have already completed the game and know the levels/mechanics pretty well. Overall, it isn't a problem to complete a stage on purist mode since majority of the levels can be completed very easily without a disguise in the first place if you are familiar with the environment and distractions mechanic.

My one complaint is that the game literally removes key methods of completing levels due to how fast AI reacts to your character performing actions, such as poisoning food or picking up evidence. Sure it can be completed in other ways but it is kind of sad that not all intended methods of completing a given level are available to utilize simply due to poor design of Purist. It quite literally breaks a good portion of their game and reduces the number of approaches one can take.

Side rant... the Silent Assassin Bonus is so messed up. I completed the entire game without being spotted once, hiding all bodies, and always signature kills, target only. No enemy ever even realized I existed. Yet, I would say I got Silent Assassin Bonus on roughly half the stages. I also collected most of the evidence in the game.

Anyone else feel this way?

A Silent Assassin Rating is only possible in the few levels where you actually have to kill targets, except A Personal Contract. That leaves King of Chinatown, Hope, Central Heating and Blackwater as far as I recall!

Not rating, I meant the bonus. The bonus goes up to x1 for a given stage if you achieve the bonus. Problem is I don't understand the logic unless its currently bugged. The rating is fine since it is based on score... but the criteria for Silent Assassin Bonus in which I performed ideally in what should have gotten it but randomly gave it to me on and off despite exact identical performances in each stage... makes no sense.

Makes sense to me. You wanted "purist" and you got it.. lol going to have to be more crafty. it's possible.

I think you need to complete a certain amount of challenges to get enough points for the Silent Assasin Bonus. It seems to be triggered by gaining enough points.

Most Purist missions end up being nothing more than gunfights because of how broken the game is.

...or 4h of constant restarts (including gunfights ^^).
I had to do so in King of Chinatown on Purist.

The plan was:
1. get to car and activate alert
2. distract guards and King
3. kill King and dispose body
4. escape, but don't forget the evidence

The guards were easily distracted and messed up the timings at several stages.
I was able to get hide behind the car, but sometimes the guard taking a leak (the one initially guarding the car), mysteriously spotted me for some reason (around 1/3rd of the f4ck ups, the other 2/3rds were random spotting)?

Also when spotted they, can easily spot and kill you from inhumane spots/angles.
You do not see them, but they see you. O_o'

Man am I the only one who hates the new angles over the shoulder?
It is like Alan Wake and I totally hate it.
I am still not getting used to this and never will.
Why did they give up centerposition 3rd person view?
I mean Deus Ex Human Revolution , for example, is similar and you are centered (when hiding etc).

Doesn't make sense. Like I said Purist is actually pretty easy. The only complaint I have is that I can't use some of the faster/lazier methods that are built in intended methods of completion (aka challenges/etc.) because of how Purist breaks parts of the games mechanics. It shouldn't become impossible to poison someone because you will always be insta-detected the moment you try too even if you have a proper disguise (minus say a chef who no one reacts too messing with food). I just find it a little sad that one difficulty breaks a very large chunk of their game design.
