Please, please don't say it's checkpoints.
It makes a big difference. I want to play for as long as I want to play. If I want to stop in the middle of a level to go and do something else then I would like to be able to do that. Also. if I make a mistake I want to go back to my last save and try again. With the old Hitman games I liked to experiment with each kill (that was part of the fun) and try different things.
It looks like I can't do any of this with Absolution.
This is so disappointing.
I KO a guy, steal his uniform and after that save my progress at a checkpoint. At some point later on I get caught so I restart my last checkpoint. And the guy I knocked out and whose uniform I am wearing respawns. WTF!!!
I just don't understand how did they manage to f*ck this game up so badly. They had prefect templates to build upon. Silent Assassin and Blood Money were great games. While Absolution feels like it was created by people who didn't know what were they doing.
So, not only do they have checkpoints rather than proper saves, they don't even work properly!!
there is no auto saves because the levels are pretty short-but you do have check points during the game-yes i know its a pain when you get killed or spotted and have to restart the whole level again- but it is still worth it to play it right through to the Finnish-don't give up
