This game is ridiculously hard?

I'm playing on hard difficulty so of course I expect it to be hard... but not like this. When in open combat, I can't go out of cover for 1 second without getting shreded. There are so many enemies that stealth is basically impossible as well. Point shooting depletes so fast that it actually isn't even worth it because while you are shooting the enemies shoot as well and usually when I use point shooting I end up getting killed. Basically this entire game is not fun at all and just frustrating. You know something is terribly wrong with a game when 75 of the 100 or so people on the streets of a small town are cops (Shaving Lenny level). I played for like 10 hours now and I only got to the 9th mission out of 20.

Also, I don't know if it is just my computer or maybe I don't know how to use it properly or if it isn't enabled on hard difficulty but I can't even hide my face while in disguise. I remember doing it in the tutorial just by pressing "control" but now it never works anymore.

stealth IS possible ... just study your surroundings and use your brain

your not suposed to be caught. use disguises more often. also you have this yellow bar on the bottom right of the screen if that bar is gone you no longer have any instinct left and you cant use your hide face option when in disguise.

Its on the unforgiving side - I am playing it through on Hard and am finding it very tricky.
Best advice is to take your time, view your surroundings and study your targets.

Well dunno.. but from what I know there are games, which are hard to beat on hard difficulty. And sometimes there's even "extreme" as a difficulty, too. Anyway.. gotta try this out some day.

Play it on Easy or Normal until you know most of the alternate routes, disguise locations, NPC schedules, things like that. Even if you're not using stealth, use silenced weapons or melee so the entire map doesn't go on full alert.

Also, if you can't hide your face while you're disguised, make sure you still have Instinct left.

I find it a bit boring, the last Games hat more options to get a Job done. So sometimes i find it hard because there is only one way.

usually, playing games on easy or normal is only for story reward and basic control.
once you go on "hard", the game requires "the way its supposed to be played", you can still counter strike all the way on hard, but thats just way too hard.

then once you get the hang of hard, clearing extreme or purist isn't much different.
if you can play hard perfectly or uncaught, then you should be able to get extreme or purist.

I'm doing my first playthrough on Expert, this game is quite challenging but... what do you mean by 'silenced weapons'?! On the Library level, I found scissors... AFAIK it IS a silenced weapon so I threw the scissors to headshot an enemy, no one could see the guy but they... (I don't know how) heard(?) him... WTF?! Please tell me :)

If the guy you kill see you it's enough that the others gets alamed! Even he only see the bullet coming out of your gun :-( If you play on "purist" you have to kill silent and hide the dead bodies, know the alternate ways to reach your targets or you will die !!! - That's fact, try it on a easier mode first ;-)

its all about timing and patience.. personally i feel that it sucks that only one mistake is enough for you to ruin your score. That really hurts especially if you're a perfectionist. Practice makes perfect~~

The disguise system is bogus in this game - you can disguise in a mask, hide two streets away behind a vehicle... and you'll still get spotted!

This Hitman has the worst disguise system. Period. You'll spend more time hiding in cover and going through doors; than anything else!!

I'm at the Cornwall level (last level) on hard. As it approaches the end, it is just not feasible to get through some parts without a disguise and instinct -- which can only be obtained with a pacification/kill followed by hiding the body -- to fool the guards. A lot of patience is required.

Trying to kill everyone just completely beats the purpose of the game, is much harder and destroys the score.

Yeah, that's why it's hard for me, every time I see an enemy, I want to kill him but we can't do that in Hitman :\
