[FIXED] PC: Hitman stutters or hangs while starting, black screen, sometimes CTD

This is a solution for users of Nvidia drivers 310.90 WHQL and below.
I've read about this problem many times and many players were not able to play Hitman Absolution after the latest patch to version 1.0.444.0.
This advice was out there somewhere in the forums but not easy to find.

In the Options dialog of the launcher uncheck "Exclusive Fullscreen" AND "Fullscreen".
Now the game should start well in windowed mode. After that you can change the in-game options back to "Fullscreen" and it should work. Now even after many sessions and reboots.
I have not tried to switch back "Exclusive Fullscreen" yet.

What does Exclusive Fullscreen difer from from just Fullscreen?

No other application can access the graphics as long as "exclusive" is on. I think it could help to reduce graphic lags and tearing.

I'm a couple years late here but just getting around to playing this game. Unchecking Exclusive Fullscreen resolved this issue immediately for me. seo: hitman absolution black screen
