I have alt-tabbed out of games in the past and got a download to resume while in game, but that sometimes causes instability in certain games, so I've just avoided it all together and just let my downloads run while I surf the web, read forum posts, mow the grass etc...
Thanks again for the replies :)
2. That depends on your connection. Take the speed of your connection (6mbit, 16mbit, 50mbit etc.) and divide it by 8 to get your Downloadspeed in megabytes instead of megabits. Divide the size of the Download by your Downloadspeed and you know how many seconds it will take to Download it (it´s not an exact value and can depend if other people use the same connection).
Example: 12 GB Download; 6mbit/s Downloadspeed. 6/8=0.75mb/s. 12.288mb/0.75mb/s = 16384 seconds. 16.384s/60 = 273m/60 = 4.5 hours.
