To remove his bar code
But in the end it still looks the same..

Because bar codes now are mainstream
I think he had a GPS tracker or something and he decided to remove it. That's my guessing...
The barcode may have represented his past as a Hitman with nothing to really live for. Trying to remove it might have given himself a mindset that maybe he does have something to live for.
An Emo Hitman
cuz the agency men can recognize him with the bar code
Barcode 47 = Clone, Hitman

No Barcode 47 = Human

It means 47 wanted to live as a human not a Clone or killer
but again in the end it looks fine and like this never happened.. so..it was kinda stupid..
From what I've played, 47 does a lot of stupid things in the game.

He sells all of his equipment for information.
He gets caught when garroting a dude like a total amateur.
He leaves Victoria in an orphanage which leads to murder of many nuns.
And yeah, he cuts himself up out of anger about the experiments that created him.

The developers wanted to humanize 47 through this. No more an emotionless blank, now he fears, cares and makes dumb mistakes.

Before I started to play I was hoping for gameplay like the previous games, you know..
you have your normal suit, you need to kill someone and you do it in creative way and that's it.. but they ruin it with the stupid story about the girl and her stupid necklace.. the problem here is I'm the one being hunted all the time, not the opposite..
I hope the next game will concentrate more about the old gameplay and not about the story.. don't get me wrong,I love stories in games, but I am not playing Hitman for that..
Yeah, I agree with that.

But with Contracts Mode and Challenges I don't really feel the need to play the story mode at all. The only problem I have is that it's difficult to find interesting and challenging contracts, because they didn't give it enough attention.
That's right. They gave too much attention to the story and that made them sacrifice some gameplay elements, vital for Hitman series, in order to achieve smooth storytelling. However, I found this game interesting in many ways but It wasn't "Hitman experience". I think that it would be best if the game had a different title, something like: "Codename 47: Personal Contract". Calling it Hitman seems a bit unfair to me but it's a good game after all.
CHLOE ANSWER CORRECTLY. HE DIDNT WANT TO BE A CLONE, HE WANTED TO BE NORMAL SO HE CUT IT OFF.
