If you need further help go to the game page and select the "support" widget. There you should find every possible cause of the error and hopefully resolve the problem.
Happy New Year!
The solution for this problem (for me) is as follows:
1. right click on Hitman Absolution in your library - properties
2. disable Steam overlay and cloud saves
3. change the language to Russian or any other
4. let the game update (~ 500mb download)
5. run it once from Steam (the launcher should start)
6. exit the launcher, revert the language to English
He was a little vague about step 4. In the properties there's an "Updates" tab, click that and change the Automatic Updates to "Only Update This Game When I Launch It". Not sure if that is REALLY necessary but doing that and following the steps above worked for me. Also, after you change it back to English, the game will have to update again. Happy New Year!
Edit: Well I don't know why but I closed steam and ram it as administrator, steam cloud save and overlay was off. I selected play and it did the same " updating executable," I assumed it hadn't worked then about 20 seconds later the launcher opened for the game.
work for me.Thanks for your help brother!!
