x4 Msaa or x8?

I cannot really tell a diffrence between them, When I run the benchmarking tool at 4x msaa 32 Fps Min......48 Fps Max........34 Fps average/ On a Gtx 770. When msaa is at x8 then game gets really choppy and hard to play.Question is there a big diffrence in quality at x 4 vs x 8 in your opinion? This is a Amd optimized game so I will assume Radeons do better then Nvidia at this game correct?

I dont know but my score kinda seems low to me, what do you think? Thanks for your time.

FXAA poster, try SMAA with radeon pro, FXAA uses just as much power as SMAA but if you notice edges and certain things are blurrier with FXAA, SMAA is near full blown MSAA without the performance penalty.

Just put it on 2x and turn MFAA on in NVCP. That will give you the IQ of 4x (A little better in this case) for the cost of 2x and give you quite a few frames back. If you have that stuttering bad, turn off Steam overlay and set Max rendered frames to 1 in NVCP. This ought to help some. We all have this strange longing to set everything as high as possible and feel curiously wrong if we cant. In the past I have obsessed over it and spent countless hours tweaking so many games. How it looks should be #1 not what the settings are. Even though it is very uninuitive higher is not always better. A little SweetFX for Sharpening and SMAA injecting goes a long way with far less headache. If you can afford it Forcing SGSSAA is the ideal solution. This game can only be used with "Enhance in game settings" for transparency AA though. I just got off from a 16 hours work day so I apologize if none of this even makes sense. I feel a little fried.

At 8x Msaa on certin stages it runs just fine over 35-40fps, Now there is certin parts of the game that are very graphic demanding (Excuse my english please) it will go as low as 15 fps and becomes very un-playable! ......At x4 this problem seems to go away and the fps go up to 60 fps majority of the time.Can I tell the diffrence between the 2? Yes for sure x8 looks better but I dont know if its worth the hassle honestly.

Schould I turn off FXAA while running MSAA btw? I feel like a total noob lol.

Anyways, yes you must be kind of new with computer hardware and gaming in general, frame rate should never drop below 60.... 45 is I guess playable for this game since its not that fast paced if your going silent, but 15? No way that is like a slide show. So please if you are going to debate me dont claim one thing then prove I was right by saying 15.

You have some sort of brain traum to cause short term memory loss?!!?!? You dont think 8x MSAA will work when 4 post ago your bragging that you "can" do it with a 970.

Your first sentence is true to an extent. For game like hitman no you do not need 60 fps constant its ok if it dips to 40s because hitman is not fast paced twich game like a fps is. But 15? It doesnt matter if it is only 2 sec, it sill impacts your vision. If you knew how to do profesional benchmarking you would know there are 3 fps, max, avg and min. Always look at min, take my advice

Try playing say CS GO at less then 60 fps

Dude are you high on something?! I never said anything about a 970! I have a gtx 770 not a 970. Seems to me like your the one suffering from memory loss. But thanks for your tips, maybe somone else said you can do it with a 970 but again I have a gtx 770 so I wouldnt know.

MSAA gets rid of the famous "stairstep" or pixelation you see around the edges of 3D objects in game. x8 introduces more aggressive pixel blending or bluing, where as x4 uses only moderate blending or blurring. learn how to read, it doesnt matter if your fps ups to 40s or 60s, you remind of n00bs that used to play quake and say ohh look if I stare at a wall I get 200fps!!! Your clueless, any pro gamer know the fps should never drop below 60 even if its for a few seconds. learn how to tweak n00b
