However in Absolution there is a story to it and its not really contract/mission based like the previous games.
All you need to know can be summed up i na few sentences:
There was a scientist called Dr Ort-Meyer, who combined the genes of several great Crime Lords in order to create a super-soldier. The best of these clones was the 47th one. He is faster, smarter, stronger and tougher than an average man, and trained to be an efficient killer. One day 47 escapes and uses his skills to become a Hitman. He becomes the best assassin in the world. He is so good some don't even believe he exists and think he's an urban myth.
cheers guys is this the best hitman or is there a better one?
Im a big Hitman fan and owned them all multiple times, for me Blood Money is the best one as it is a level where you need to kill one or multiple targets and you can do it in many different ways, which adds fun to the game.
Absolution however was a slight disappointment for Hitman fans as it was a full story with chapters, not the old missions. The game just carries through the story but along the way there might be a target that is needed to be killed.
So -eg, in Blood money there is an Opera house mission, you need to kill 2 people but it can be done in many different ways, the you escape, next mission.
Absolution is, At a parade you need to work your way past guards to an exit, next part is the same thing, then again (lol) then you come to a point where you kill someone as part of the story. It does get boring and repetative but still fun.
TBH man you should just buy the Hitman Collection, its in the flash sale aswell :)

Not without its problems (clunky controls, save points etc) but for me it is a classic. Fantastic missions (The Lee Hong Assassination, The Massacre at the Cheung Chow Fish House etc) and challenging gameplay. You can get all the old games for $5 in a bundle - def worth it if you like the franchise
YES!!! I love that one aswell, shame its very glitchy on newer pcs. Alot of people dont even know that exists. I remember when Hitman Contacts on came out on consoles and people though it was the 2nd game... after Hitman 2? hmm?
I actually bought the entire Hitman bundle (again) during one of the previous Steam sales, and have been randomly playing through the original missions - still loads of fun!
I think the biggest complaint of the first game (Codename 47) was that there were no in-game save points. You mess up, you start the mission over from the beginning. It wasn;t a big deal for most of the earlier (and shorter) missions but once you got near the end of the game, missions got longer and 20 mins into a perfect mission - you screw one thing up, you end up getting killed and need to start over - got frustrating.
That said, the rush you get from running an entire mission (without the crutch of saved games) start to finish and the tension it creates when faced with guards etc is unparalleled - the reward is the perfect hit and a thing of beauty
Agent 47 does not fall for such obvious bait :)
I do play everything however for the record.
Have you heard of or played "Death to Spies"? if not buy it! its like hitman 1 but set in WW2, you are basically a spy sent on missions to kill people and collect objectives. Same gameplay and controls aswell. Really fun and challenging.
No hadn;t heard of that one, cheers will def check it out. Hopefully its on sale :)
