does SAM still work in 2023? that used to be how those addicts such as yourself got through the day with games that had no-longer-achievable achievements... they just gave themselves with Steam Achievement Manager... even exclusives and pre-order ones.
Thankfully I have never suffered from this disease, in fact I wish there was a way those of us who could not possibly care any less, could permanently remove achievements from every game even future games we haven't purchased yet, just remove that ability from our steam accounts and libraries - so 100% or 1% completion games, they'd all show up like old games - just don't have any.
I don't need the game to make a bullet-point list to tell me what I did or didn't do, if I had fun, I can tell by elapsed playtime!
Never understood it. If killing a guy with a toilet in HL2 is funny, it's always funny, not just the one time you get a little pop-up congratulating you for doing so. It's not like they're unique in any way; hundreds of thousands get the same achievement, most of the time they're just handed out like candy, for progressing normally through the game, not a completing a grueling and complex series of in-game tasks.
Maybe it's a 5-yr old lizard brain mentality thing, it's Candy Crush going SWEET! and it gives you a little ASMR chill or something? (Maybe it's just form of addiction?)
Anyway so glad I don't have this illness. Condolences to those that do, it sounds terrible. Glad this game has a solution that works!
