Remove Multiplayer achievements, please!

Dear IO Interactive & Square Enix:

This is regarding the steam achievements for Hitman Absolution,

Could you please remove/de-list the multiplayer (contract mode) achievements from steam? This will make many people happy in the 100% steam achievement community and not only, as these are no longer obtainable for several years now!

I see that the game is now even listed as "single player" on steam. So removing the contract mode achievements will make this a true single player game. I understand that this won't be on your priority list, but it will do good with the community overall!

I totally agree. Since the product is still in sale, all achievements should be obtainable. The ones that required the inactive multplayer should be removed.

i'd rather not have my achievements removed because of newer players choosing to play an older game.

Not trying to sound horrible but you all had 6 years to do these achievements, during that period the game was super cheap countless amounts on sales (5 euros or so). You missed your chance and this isnt the first or the last game with such achievements.

Dont think IO gives a damn about this game anyway, its the black cat of the series and they are busy with doing some hitman 3 dlc stuff and they they are off to focus on making a new james bond game.

Square Enix and IOI stopped working together years ago. Infact Square Enix tried to shut the company down and were in deep water during the development of Hitman 2016. Square Enix holds all the rights to Absolution. IOI tried to get the servers up and running but Square Enix is far too corporate to let them. IOI has no rights to this game, despite developing it. It's sad but that's how corporations are. Square Enix will not listen, they care only about profit. IOI too in recent times, they sold out the last game in the franchise to Epic Games of all companies and refuse to comment.

Contracts is dead and they achievements will never be "fixed".

I've got all the contracts mode achievements, I just want the contracts mode back tho.

Unfortunately it will never return unless IOI sees profit and Square Enix will even let them.

There is no mod to disable MP achievements, this is regulated on the Steam servers, only Developers/Publishers can disable this, but this game sadly became abandonware, Publisher and Developers will not touch this anymore. I had high hopes, but i doubt anything will change.

Thank you guys for showing your interest, now only hope someone from the Publisher will see this and take some action, but like i said above, highly doubt anything will change :(

Yet I bought this same game of GOG and there version has all the multiplayer stuff removed so how was that possible for GOG?

GOG and Steam have different ways of handling things. Last I checked, GOG has a more advanced way of going about it and not removing the achievements from the users who did earn it but removing it from the listed achievements. Steam is a different story as it would require it from being removed entirely. As I said before, it would not be fair on users who did earn it back when servers where active like me. I would say this is the reason why it wasn't removed here, but I think the real reason is that GOG required them to remove it if they wanted the game to stay up on that site due to some ToS thing which Steam does not enforce/require. I highly doubt Square Enix care about this game anymore, and even if IOI did, they can't do anything.

I don't think it's that hard to restore the Contract functionality instead of removing it, but it's still an effort for an 8 years old game. They just don't want to put in that effort. Unfortunate.

TBF i'd actually contact steam about this. They are still openly selling a game where achievements are impossible to complete.
