Game crashes after selecting difficulty

Been suffering from this problem for almost 3 years (Can't be able to play the game since I purchased it). Had just solved the problem: open the game's local file, right click "HMA.exe", select properties, click the compatibilities tab, set to compatible with windows 7 and select the "run as administrator" option, restart your PC and run the game.

anyone know how to fix it on Ubuntu? im trying different things. would hate to have to transfer it to Lutris/wineplay.
