Reset Progress for the Challenges ?

Hi. So, I've been desperately trying to erase all my progress for the challenges I've made so I can replay everything from scratch. I've succeeded - but only partially. See, I delete the file in "Steam/userdata/94337829205930/remote" named HM5, after launching the game and I've got a fresh file. I play the first mission, then quit the game, restart the game again and it synchronises the save in the cloud without asking me which save I would prefer to keep.

I've tried going in my options to check the box that automatically synchronises the game, that way I'll preserve my original save, but then none of my progress is saved and I have to start the game anew every time I launch it (which means if I want to make progress, it'll have to be in one go - as you can imagine, this might be a bit complicated considering all you can do in the game).

I don't understand what else I can try and none of the guides I found offer new solution, so I'm hoping someone could lend me a helping hand here. Thanks!

I kept looking for a solution and found it, so I'm going to describe it here in case anyone in the future has the same problem as me:

Since a new clean save couldn't be created after I erased the old one, I tried deleting the content of the file instead of the whole file. I opened it with the notepad on Windows, deleted all the weird characters that tell the game about my progress, and saved the changes. Played for a bit, left the game, checked the file; new lines were created. Opened the game again to make sure, and it is still the new save!

I haven't reactivated my synchronisation with the cloud on this game since I'm not sure steam would actually check which I would prefer to keep - not taking that risk, at least, not until I'm finished with my new go at the game ^^ (I have been trying to fix this for too long and I can't take another set back right, this thing fed me up)
