this game is weird
i lose points if i subdue people or kill...i don't like this point system,i think they should give points for killing people, well at least for the goons and thugs anyway,if you lose points for killing civilians i would understand, but i wanna kill the rest

Given that you are playing as a silent assassin, you are supposed to leave the surrounding world as untouched as possible whilst eliminating your targets. Making a point to kill every last living guard employed by your targets is thus counter-productive since this leaves loose ends. This game isn't really an fps and if I'm honest I very rarely even kill or subdue at all to maximise my scores.

As long as you hide the bodies, you don't lose points for pacifications and signiture kills/headshots.

If you do want to rack up points pacifying however, use the syringe (found in Rosewood and I think one of the levels in Dexter's factory) to pacify as the game sees it as a signiture kill instead, and thus you gain points for every pacification with it (even without hiding bodies).

Oh, and if you aren't score-concious, kill them all anyway.

You do not listen to the game then, because you are supposed to be the silent assassin, meaning you are to leave no trace if possible. Now, if you don't care about points, my friend and I had a competition about how many people we could kill in Terminus while still being stealthy. Plus, *SPOILER ALERT AHEAD* when Wade and Lenny took Victoria, I just wanted revenge and shot everyone without silencers using the slow motion when you shoot someone undetected and there is another person, it will go into slow-mo, so ♥♥♥♥ all of your goons Limp-♥♥♥♥ Lenny!

Your attitude to being an assassin who is never seen or heard is weird.

Well technically an assasin is someone who kills, and that's what I did,I kill...as for the "silent" part,i just figure stealth kills or silencer equals silent

Well, technically, you may be right. Going by the definition ;)

But when you add in the "silent" then it adds another definite meaning to the word. Yes, it means not being seen, covering your tracks etc.

Or it should just be Executioner:Absolution or the like.
someone obviously didn't understand Hitman

I also got confused about the scoring system. Now I just disregard my score alltogether and kill who I want.

If you are playing a stealth (silent) assassin game, you should instinctively know what is and is not acceptable. This should come to you easily.

If you are being punished for a kill you make, stop and think why the game is penalising you. It usually is pretty clear what the game wants you to do; but you should already be there and in tune with that, seeing how you are playing a silent killing game.

well actually all of you who say "you have to do it without being seen" are wrong, the Hitman games have always been about CHOICE. Choosing to be unseen is heavily rewarded and probably in the best interest of 47 however there is always the choice for those who want to be a blood thirsty assasin and kill anyone who gets in their way. The OP is free to play the game how he sees fit, as the game designers intended. Otherwise they wouldnt put in such an array of guns and shooting mechanics.

I however prefer the tactful silent aproach but sometimes i just wanna walk into a room and blow everybodies brains out. Especially the orphanage mission.......i killed EVERYONE in that mission just cause they were all scum bags butchering people who take in orphaned kids.

Yep, but the OP was originally asking about the scoring system. If you play like the game suggests, you should make making only one (or two. or three, depending on the mission and the number of targets) kills per mission; any other encounters will affect your score. Youd need to pacify and hide non-targets.

And yes. I like that you can just slaughter your way through the levels. I get SA and then go back through killing absolutely anything that moves :P

I agree that Hitman Absolution was made to play either way. I've played it so many hours that pure stealth is a drag, especially when you know the map like the back of your hand.

Now I do kill everyone who I see as an enemy but I do it with stealth. I try to kill each one without being seen. The game does have a few spots that are completely immune to enemy attack. Which means that even if they know where you are, they can't get to you.

Love this game.
