Game crashes during map load. WHY?

This has been happening ever since the game went on sale. The only time the game freezes is when the map loads. I can screw around with the barracks forever or set my classes in the lobby, but as soon as the map loads, the game freezes. Then I have to ctrl+alt+del to get out of it and the game rebots itself.

This doesn't happen every time I load into a match, but it eventually happens every time I play. If i wait 5-10 minutes and start the game again, it will work for a while, but if I try to play immediately after it happens, it just continues to freeze when the map loads.

It's been one problem after the other since I bought this game in January. First and my last CoD because after nearly a year, they still can't get their ♥♥♥♥ together. I love the game when it works, but I have never owned a game that has had this many (if any) problems.

When that happened to me I had to delete 2 files.. user_mp.cgp and hardware_mp.chp inside the Players Folder. Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\players

I just played for over an hour and it didn't happen. What could be causing this crap?

backround program's maybe? try closing everything and playing.

If you delete those files, the game will re-create them when it loads again. So each time I update my drivers or if the game seems sluggish, I delete those files. I wouldn't tell you to do something that will get you banned or do a negitive effect on your gameplay.

You never know, lol. I'll try it. The only background g=programs I have running is chrome...and I've always had multiple windows open maybe some other software on when I've played this game in the past, and the game has run fine. This PC better handle it.

PS, !@$%&*&*^!@$&*^!@&!@&#^ TREYARCH!!!!!! Sitting forever in league match lobbies just to have the game take a ♥♥♥♥ on the map loadout. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CHRIST! FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT!!!!! RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Well, that didn't work. I haven't played the past three days, but sure enough, when I got home, the problem is still there. This time it loaded the map picture before freezing and crashing...and no background programs running either. EVERY OTHER GAME I OWN WORKS, THOUGH. So, there's that.

It's crashed 4 times in the past couple hours and the last time, it crashed on a lobby I had been in for a couple games.

Somthing to try is to start singleplayer then switch to multiplayer from the main menu. I do this after every update and don't have this problem anymore. Do the same with zombies if you have it installed.

You might need to varify game files because of the crashes.

Same. If I launch campaign it is all fine until the actual gameplay same with zombies and MP.

Strangely, the game hasn't frozen when I've started it up like this. Coincidence? I don't know. It's been working the past two days when I remember to start it up this way. I'll get back to the thread in a week or so if it's still working...but DAMMIT, TREYARCH, WTF? This is almost as bad as GTA4.

Hell I've been having problems since the latest patch. Still trying to figure out wth is going on with mine. My sound cuts off every time the game starts or while in game for about 2 minutes. Haven't had a decent gaming session in the last 3-4 days I've been trying to work on this problem. Did everything in the book. Un/Re-installing drivers up the ying yang in my pc. Have to restart pc in order for sound to come back on. At the moment, I deleted every sound in the CoD folder so far it's d/ling it back to my pc. Imma see what happens from there when I go back in game. Hopefully, that fixes it.
