Framerate lag help?
I have a pretty beefy system (3770 i7 3.4ghz CPU, GTX670 Graphics card, 16gb Ram, etc). I can play pretty much any current game with maxed out settings. For some reason, Black Ops 2 gives me lag during multiplayer. Ive played a few levels on singleplayer, and I get 60FPS all the way through (vsync). However, in multiplayer, usually at the beggining of a match, and anytime someone comes near me, or people start shooting, FPS drops by almost half! :-\ this is very annoying, as I will have someone targeted on sight, and then lag screws me up. Even occurs when I turn down most settings. Even setting everything to its lowest, though admittedly it doesnt occur NEARLY as much, but still, I should be able to play this game with no framerates below 60, shouldnt I? Like i said, almost every other current game I've tried seems to work fine. Just BO2 :-\ help?

Oh, and I should mention my internet is fine. I have high speed, low ping. so that shouldnt be the issue.

It's the issue by Treyarch, you can't really do nothing.Becuase the game was working like a charm before they patched. So with every new patch the game becomes worst and worst and i have the same beast machine.A 3 days ago i bought another one gtx titan (2xsli) and sometimes i have fps drops.Other games runs fine with max settings (Crysis 3,BF3,etc...)

Do you use Vsync for multiplayer too?
If so switch it off for an hour and play as normal.

Turning Vsync off is disgusting. That tearing is terrible.

Turn Vsync off, lock the framerate at 123 and turn Depth of Field off.

Nah. Still ADS framerate drop issues around

DoF on low would perhaps cause a drop of around 10FPS, but I always lock my framerate at the best anyway so it doesn't fluctuate. Never have drops then.

30 is pretty much the drop I had when ADS with DoF on high.
Until I realised it was DoF causing it so I set it back down to low.

i got almost same pc that you have and ads drop when aim down only happend on sp running max setting. mp never drop is lock 200fps, zombies is fine as well the only game i had drop was crisis 2 single player when you shooting down fps drops really bad.

i Play on a TV so running at higher frames than 60 solves nothing. tearing becomes horrid and distracting that playing multiplayer sucks when every quick turn counts. depth of field cuts off portions of the view so its more like a disadvantage, especially when most COD players are better than me. drivers are updated to latest. no beta. geforce experience even optimizes for me. still frame lag.

the issue is this shouldnt be an issue. even single players first level, with hordes of enemies running around, gunfire, explosions, etc. i get absolutely no lag. multiplayer is the only issue. even other multiplayer games play fine for me, so i shouldnt have to turn my settings down for a now older game, that my rig shouldnt have trouble with, when newer, more demanding games run fine. what gives?
