Cant get Xbox 360 Controller to work on BO2
I just recently started playing FPS on PC. I wanted to try and use my 360 controller on my PC to see how it works. (I know mouse and keyboard are better)
I know the 360 controller works on BO2, I have seen videos of ppl using 360 controllers on BO2.

I went to Microsofts website and downloaded the driver I needed, and Installed it. The controller just doesn't do anything in BO2. I know the controller works because it works when I play BF3.

Could this be a Steam problem. I donwloaded the game from steam. I didn't actually go buy it from the store. (Im not sure if their is missing files because you can install 3 parts of the game from steam(Campain,Multi, and Zombies) unlike when you buy from the store it installs all of it for you).

Any help is appreciated, thanks

It is because your PC feels violated for having an Xbox controller shoved into it.

When you're against people using keyboard + mouse you are just going to get owned using a controller. So seriously just get used to K+B especially if you know it's better.

But if you're insistent, I used x360ce when I have friends round, which does the trick.
But seriously, You're going to have a bad time using a controller in PC FPS games.

Silly question, but did you change to controller in the options?

i can do ok in MP with 360 pad but i deffo do alot better without. op you need to go into options and tell it to use the 360 pad instead of keyboard and mouse

I figured it out. Its because their was some old controller files in the folder that wouldnt let it work I guess.

I just wanted to try it because. I do horrible with Mouse and Keyboard. My mouse skips when I try to aim. It doesn't move smoothly. Im gonna get a new mouse tonight. My current mouse is a gateway mouse that is probably 6+ Years old.

im usin a microsoft opticle thats probs about the same age and its generally ok but yeah it tends to skip from side to side of what i want to aim at. there is a fix on here somewhere for spazzy mouse movements which im yet to try
I use a 360 controller and i do just fine against people using mouse n keyboard.

I have not read the whole discussion but you need the drivers of the controller to be installed into your pc so it will be confirmed by it

Also, don't be that guy who downloads an aim assist to keep par with mouse/keyboard players.
