Search & Destroy game length
The Search and Destroy in this game has some serious balance issues. The problem is the amount of rounds total in game, how often you switch sides & the amount of points you earn for kills and objectives.

Lets think about this for a moment. You win by being the first team to 4 round wins. Not only is that extremely short, but you switch sides every 3 rounds. This means that if your team wins defense all three rounds which is much easier than planting than you only have to win one round of offense to win the game. On the other side if you start on offense it is much more difficult giving an unfair advantage to the enemy team.

The other issue is the amount of points you earn in this gametype is nothing compared to the others. It is extremely difficult to level up in this gametype because of this. I believe this is one of the reasons there are so few players in this game mode. Increasing the game length would help but I believe the point system should be looked at so players earn more points per kill and for objectives.

These ideas are nothing new and come from other Call of Duty games such as COD4. In that game players earned more and the games typically were longer often being the first to 10 or 13 wins.



So here is the brake down of what I believe needs to be fixed in this game mode.


Option 1
Amount of rounds: First team to 13 round wins
Switch sides: Every 4 rounds
Points: No multiplier

This is basically how Cevo and TWL is setup.


Option 2
Amount of rounds: First team to 10 round wins
Switch sides: Every 5 rounds
Points: X1.5 multiplier


Option 3
Amount of rounds: First team to 4 round wins (same)
Switch sides: Every 2 rounds (instead of 3)
Points: X2 multiplier



These are just my opinions. I have been playing Search and destroy mainly of cod4 since 2008. This includes running my own Search & Destroy servers and promod scrimming.



What do you guys think about this? Is it a good idea or am I just completely insane?

4 rounds to win? Wasn't it shorter than that before?
I like how they give less XP in S&D now, in BO1 S&D was just an easy way to level up incredibly fast.

If the game length was increased I don't think there would be any need to have increased points. But as it is now, compared to other game types, you earn far less points overall per game.

This is largerly due to the very short games which are the first to 4 rounds and the nature of the game mode itself which is 1 life a round.

I can understand not wanting longer than 4 rounds as some players (not me) might get bored easily with longer games. But I do believe they need to change it so teams switch sides every 2 rounds instead of 3 and increase the points for kills and objectives slightly to balance it out with the other game modes.
