why is my ingame name "unknown soldier" ??

Use more than 3 charactors in your name.

Your Steam name is incompatible with Bo2. Generally this is because your name is too short too log wierd characters etc.

It could be because your in game name is too long too, originally if your name was too long then the game would just cut off maybe its been updated to display unknown instead.

Theres also the very unlikely chance that theres someone else in the lobby with the same name as you.

Next to the above stated reason, it is simply possible that BO2 just can't access your name in the Steam Community. I can't say exactly WHY but it could be one cause. If you set your profile to private, you should try if changing that affects it. If not, one of the above might be worth solving...

yeah well i used to much charactors since my name started with "\m/ (>,<) \m/ -- .......". when i tried to fix it the first time i changed my name while i still was ingame. After i restaerted the game it was fixed .... i just had to reload the game so it could change the name correctly

Change it then, wait 24hours and see if BO2 now picks up your new name.

i had a name that was 3 letters long JRH and all i hat to do was add tnother letter and it was back to normal and not unknown soldier 1
