Player Count is too damn low
I KNOW I am not the only one who has noticed that the player base on public matches is virtually non-existant. Less than 2k people at peak during a weekday. Seriously? I am new to the game so maybe I am missing something but for a game that is "HUGE" I would expect thousands more than that, even if this is on the PC. Any explanation as to why I see this?

May the super bowl had something to do with it ????

No true dedicated server and serious lag compensation have really hurt. I no longer even try to play Black Ops 2. Tired of Lag Comp and there are so few players you end up playing with people in other countries. I went back to Black Ops 1. I'm not buying any more COD games until they get their act together.

The console versions of the game are played significantly more than the PC version. Sunday at 9 am EST seems to be the best time to play. (40,000+ online) Unfortunately we can't just round up all of the kids to get the PC version, they're happy and stupid enough to stick with their consoles. It sucks because I LOVE headquarters but on a good day only 250 players will be playing at one point.

9 am on a Sunday? That seems odd to say the least. Even at what I would consider peak playing times on weekends (early to late evening) there are almost nobody playing. I saw several playlists with between 0 and 10 people on them which is absurd. I guess I shouldn't be suprised Treyarch doesnt support or encourage more PC use. I love this game on PC...when I'm not getting my ass kicked by some max level.

Maxx - What is the lag compensation you speak? I get the literal definition, but what is done in game to make it so..

It's low but I have yet to see it down to 2k low. I'm sure it will come to that when the DLC is released and the community is slpit from DLC and non DLC. Which is why I won't be buying it, it's shame since I would have considered it and I don't normally buy DLC. Probably because it's all in one bundle.

Look at the game stats after a match and you know why so many people stop playing bo2 online on pc. 10% of the players have scores 5000+ but the others ... do you really think they have fun ingame with a k/d ratio around 0.5 or 1.0 ? yeah go on and call all of them noobs or loosers - so they have a reason more to say goodbye to the game. Dont wonder when this games support will stop after 1st dlc because 3/4 of the owners of bo2 are playing other games or gone back to bo1 where they have better stats and not problems with lagg comps !!!

Season pass or dlc ? No

I am new to COD games and got BO2 just few days ago. I have to say that with all the hype, the amount of pc players is relatively small. Sure, you can find games but comparing it with the amount of available servers filled with people in BF3, any time of the day or night, 15 months after release, BO2 multi-experience isn't very impressive. And it will get only worse when DLC will come by.

Iron Monkey, I too won't be buying the DLC. I *almost* bought thseason pass but now I'm glad I didn't after seeing the low numbers that still play this game. Maybe I'll have to give BO1 a try? I can't deal with being that one guy on the team with a <1.0 KD every single game. I thought I was good at PC games but some of the killcams I see are just completely rediculous.

That does sound low, but could it be that because the kids are all on consoles and the adults play on PC - you know.. those that have to work and stuff. I play 9pm-1am GMT and its about 40,000 every night.

Maybe I'm just not playin at the right times because I have never seen a quarter of 40k...

Only time this game ever hits that now is when there is an update/double XP, and that is usually just for a few days (same will happen with the DLC). I'm on the east cost and during the day when most would be in work or school it around 25k, I don't get. After school and works hours it drops to around 10k, again I don't get even given the time zone differences. Later in the night it's around 5k, which this I can see. Plus you factor in all the play lists splitting people up, it's kind of depressing only seeing like 400 people in a playlist and seeing the same people all the time be it for better or worse.

I can tell you why I stopped playing :D.

- Doing the same thing after more then 200 hours.
- No competition (Is why /\ is a valid point)
- You are either on the good side of lag comp or you are not
- Flaming kids every game I play
- Messed up camera positions (massive peaker advantage)
- DLC splitting the community because Activision is greedy
- League Play is a joke

Remember the good old days when people were just good instead of "hackers". 95% of the CoD community is ♥♥♥♥. I am stopping with mainstream FPS games all together and focus on games with a more mature crowd.

But this is just my opinion I am sure some people disagree with me.

weird.. i usually on weekdays see a minimum of 20k in my playlist and up towards 35k on good days. In the weekends it tips over 40k most of the time.

And what playlist is that, Fantdonald?
