Black Ops 2 Is Not Producing Sound

It doesn't matter what I do in game, I still can't hear anything from the game its self. I only have the headset listed from above so please don't suggest I use a different one. I have recently reinstalled the game and the problem still didn't go away; I am open to suggestions.

my afterglow wireless works with any other game except black ops 2. its frustrating as i have to use another headset just to play this game.

ive tried manually updating the drivers on windows 7 and use the usb audio device option instead of the after glow drivers under manual driver update as windows has an alternative microsoft certified driver for this device but it still doesnt work.

unable to change the sound source in the game settings. works fine with any other usb headset i have on this game except the afterglow.

I tried everything these comments have to offer but to no avail. I Have to use a different type of headset to play. I think it started after I said okay to "would you like this to change settings onto your computer".

Uninstalling the HD audio driver for my GPU fixed this issue for me but might not for you. Still worth a try.

i found that the sound problem is easy to fix... reset the options to default, then customize them.

Found an easy fix. I know this is old and none of you guys probably play anymore but here it is anyway.

1. Go to sound
2. Change sound device
3. Save

Unplug your headset and then go to Options>Settings>Sound and click your Sound Device to Headphones and see if it works for you. That's my only option.

This is an old post, and just being reminded from new comments I want to say after a few hours from my problem I fixed it. It wasn't the changing sound device within the game. Actaully, it was a stupid bug of having too many friends on steam. Unbelievable, right? So I deleted some friends and behold! It worked. So stupid...

Another one of those "I have the same problem" and "are you sure you know how to turn on your pc?" comments. Solution that worked for me: You should see a microphone icon on the bottom right side. If not go Settings -> Microphone Privacy Settings on the Search bar -> Disable Apps accessing mic. Boom, worked like a charm after.
