It is right above where it says presets. Sound Device. Cycle through the options and see if one of them makes your headset work. It might be named something you don't expect.
For instance mine says speakers(usb audio device).
Other than that I have no idea what else it could be.
That didn't work ether.
In MP, go to -> options > settings > sound > reset to default.
when you confirm the reset it should work fine again.
hope this helps
Also try disablign x-fi as that might be causing an issue
They work, its just Black Ops 2 is the only thing that will not produce any audio.
1. Quit the game.
2. Open steam and right click BO2 singleplayer and select Properties.
3. In the Updates tab unselect the Enable Steam Cloud checkbox then select Close.
4. Do this for Multiplayer and Zombies also.
5. Navigate to the players folder, by default here: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\players
6. Delete or move the files named hardware and user.
My next suggestion would be to try a pair of USB headsets. Just make sure you are disabling every other playback device in windows besides the headset.
