Black Ops 2 Is Not Producing Sound
Audio
Creative X-Fi Audio Processor (WDM)
Headset
Headset Earphone (2- Afterglow Universal Wireless Gaming Headset)

It doesn't matter what I do in game, I still can't hear anything from the game its self. I only have the headset listed from above so please don't suggest I use a different one. I have recently reinstalled the game and the problem still didn't go away; I am open to suggestions.

Did you try using controlpanel sound option to select your headphones. It might only work if you have USB headphones though. Also did you try selecting Headphones as your sound device in the Black Ops 2 sound options?

I have tried both of the things you mentioned; I was unsuccessful.

Sorry to hear that. Are you sure you searched the Black Ops 2 sound options for your specific sound device and not the preset that says headphones?

It is right above where it says presets. Sound Device. Cycle through the options and see if one of them makes your headset work. It might be named something you don't expect.

For instance mine says speakers(usb audio device).

Other than that I have no idea what else it could be.

I have tried all of the sound options and none of them have worked. I might try closing the game out and then moving onto the sound option though.

That didn't work ether.

I had that problem twice already.

In MP, go to -> options > settings > sound > reset to default.
when you confirm the reset it should work fine again.

hope this helps

It still doesn't work. I really don't know what to do about this problem.

post a full dxdiag

Also try disablign x-fi as that might be causing an issue

I can't excatly post a full dxdiag. I could do it in parts or just post my specs if you like. Also, could you explain how to, "disablign x-fi"?

Right click speaker in system tray and select playback devices. Right click and select Disable for every item in the playback tab except your headphones assuming they are USB and are their own sound device.

Ever consider that those phones you have is broke or do they work?

I actually had to do that just to make the headset pick up any audio from my pc.

They work, its just Black Ops 2 is the only thing that will not produce any audio.

You are selecting the headset in Sound Device in the game not for Presets right? Also try deleting or moving your hardware config to see if it defaults correctly:

1. Quit the game.
2. Open steam and right click BO2 singleplayer and select Properties.
3. In the Updates tab unselect the Enable Steam Cloud checkbox then select Close.
4. Do this for Multiplayer and Zombies also.
5. Navigate to the players folder, by default here: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\players
6. Delete or move the files named hardware and user.

When I did that nothing really happened, except the files pretty much reappeared. But all I did was move them. You think deleting them would have the same effect?

It's the same as if you had deleted them. All you did was force the game to create new ones that are the default settings.

My next suggestion would be to try a pair of USB headsets. Just make sure you are disabling every other playback device in windows besides the headset.
