Random Black Ops 2 stuttering
I got this problem for a month now. Tried different drivers for my GPU, tried to free my RAM as much as possible... It just keeps happening over and over again. When I play BO2, it freezes often for like half a sec, sometimes longer. It usually happens after 1-2 games, but before that I got micro-stutters as well, then it goes crazy and it sometimes freezes for 2 or more seconds... Anyway, here are my computer specs, If any additional information may be useful to at last solve this problem then let me know :
Laptop model : Asus K75VM
CPU : Intel Core i7 - 3610QM, 2,3GHz
GPU : Geforce 630M 2GB GDDR3
4GB RAM 1600mhz DDR3
750GB HDD (Western Digital, 5400 rpm)
I got 30 gigs of free space at my system partition and 50gb on partition I got installed BO2 on. Tried defragmenting, installing some other drivers for my GPU and such, nothing seemed to help right now. And one more note, I'm not sure, but it may be something with my HDD response time as when game starts to stutter then my HDD is basically working all the time as I see on LED light from my laptop.
Oh, and driver version I'm using right now is 314.22, official NVIDIA drivers for Win 7 64Bit.

if your running anything that requires alot of disk checks try disabling. such as anti virus or firewall software. also any software versions of temp monitors like hardware monitor will really slow down your system. make sure graphics card is not over heating. usually just check fan and heat sink make sure its not caked in dust. maybe try turning down graphics in game for a few matches just to see if it helps.

personally i have never had any issues before or after the update. also running on laptop

Make sure you are using the GPU:

1.Go to nividia control panel.
2.Go to manage 3D settings.
{LINK REMOVED} global settings make it High Performance Nividia processor.
4. Then click apply.

yeah, done that too, seems like lowering FOV fixed it a little bit, imma check if it got fixed completely though.

If lowering FOV really gave you an improvement in frame rate, you ought to consider lowering some of the other graphical options like Anti-Aliasing, Shadows, Depth of Field, Texture Detail/Filtering, and Resolution.

I got everything on low and texture quality on automatic, and I still get 80-160fps at 720p... My GPU does not handle shading on Carrier well for example... It's all about ammount of graphical and sound data sent in and out from HDD, so lowering FoV seemed to help lowering HDD usage, I still consider buying better one though.

BUMP - seems like it happens again after a huge break from BO2, this is just horrible. I don't know what's happening, I leave over 3 gigs of free RAM on my computer to reserve by BO2 so it should be enough and stuttering still happen. This is the only game I got problems with, no problems with BF3, Bad Company 2, MW2, BO 1, League of Legends and such. I just don't get micro-stuttering anywhere else. It may happen everytime, everywhere, and I can see that when there is a lot of sounds passing by it happens as well. I really don't know what to think about it.

Try to change your priority to high when you ingame, also instead of low texture try to set on normal and shadows on low. Also you don't need unlimited fps (120 ideal or try to test those 60,90) Also try these tweaks http://kotisivu.dnainternet.net/kumpuju/Nvidia_Control_panel_%20Settings.pdf

Get cpu temp and see how hot your processor and gpu is, that was my problem
Joker May 15, 2013 @ 7:49pm
I had to cap my fps in the BO2 settings to 90 to make the stuttering stop. It stuttered a lot on unlimited.
Turtle. May 16, 2013 @ 1:26am
ok, imma try to cap down fps from 120 to 90, and see if it helps then. CPU and GPU temp is just ok,none of my games experience such things as BO2 does... Imma try these tweaks and respond here if it worked or not.

I had that problem before, did you OC GPU perhaps? My voltage on vbios was set to high. 1.25v. default will fix it.
Turtle. May 16, 2013 @ 2:29am
Nope, no GPU overclock, it's a stock laptop with nothing modified/OC'd in it. Each game works fine except this one. Now when I limit my FPS to 90 it freezes as well/drops from 90 to 80, and when capped to 60 it drops to 50... Idk what should I think about it, even BO 1 worked better for me.

and that while bo 1 was originally not fully compatible with multi core cpu's XD its a miracle it works better then.

eitherway, i also notice small micro stutter, tho its hardly noticable. the shaders in the map carrier seems to be a bit of a bigger problem, as alot of people even had texture's that failed to load properly while using the latest nvidia beta drivers (they are called beta for a reason, people)

eitherway, tirtel, what i could suggest is using the treyarch life help service they provide (american regular times) and get yourself a dxdiag report ready so you can provide it when its asked. the more reports they get about micro stuttering, the better and faster they are able to fix it.

also, i would like to give a bit of advice, dont see this problem fixed all too soon as there is only limited support for mobile hardware, but the best of luck could still lie with the live support.

Ok, thanks for helping, but where can I find treyarch live chat ? Or is it activision who provides it ?
