As far as I know only Optic and some clans are focoused in the whole game by itself, FaZe is just "sniping". You can say they win a championship in the last month (I don't remember the name), but to be honest, competitive cod is a joke, cod is not like CS, TF2 or even BF3/4, which are games who really require a lot skill and teamplay to win, in cod any newbie can kill a guy who get 7089462387946 nuclear medals (I do it myself a lot time), they just need to practice for a few hours. Cod is game to play for fun, because don't require much skill, trainig and teamplay, is a very noob friendly game :)
Sure any one can take out a player in cod. But unless you get skills you won't get a nuke. I play all of the games and each has it's own. I don't claim one has more skill then another, nore do I claim one is better. I have my preference.
And this is my opinion.
I respect your opinion, but I have to disagree. Of course every game takes skill, but what I'm saying is, the other games takes more practice and teamplay to win tournaments, and as far I can see, in Cod tournaments the only teamplay strategy they do is stay in all places of the map and cover each other, and in the other games the own game mechanic allows the players to perform a lot team based strategies in the game, like TF2 for exemple. Also, Cod have many things that makes competitive don't work in my opinion, like the bugged engine (which allow some glitchs, like the famous head glitch, that's unfair in competitive), the time to kill, and horrible map design (for competitve ofc, if you play only for fun those are very nice maps).
And "If bf3/4, csgo, etc had better skilled players then why do they get smoked in cod" don't make any sense, since games have his own skill base (like you said), ofc will be dificult to a player which is plays other games to get used to cod, because is obviously different, TF2 and BF3/4 for exemple matches can have around 30-40 depending of your gamemode, Cod is only 10 minutes.
I have 1000 hours of tf2, never saw that, and since is the same engine from CS:GO (with some changes, ofc), I don't think CS has it too.
Actually I never saw headglitch in CS:GO (most of them players actually shot through to the wall, I saw in youtube), since I don't play the game, I take that because they are both Source, and it doesn't matter if TF2 is diferent, and if it have a headglitch would be perfectly possible to do it with a scattergun or the many weapons in the game (TF2 do have more weapons than BO2, the stock and the Unique ones). We have 2 SMG's in TF2, and we have other SMG's in BO2, so I think we can compare, and I didn't saw anybody headglitching with those weapons.
Btw, that's not the only reason I see to competitive Cod don't work in my opinion, as I said before.
My point on skill is that in general people act like Cs and bf takes more skill which would be more about aiming. When in reality it's not just that. It takes learning the game you play. So my opinion is they all take skill I don't see one as taking any more then the next.
Those head glitches sure it sucks. But that is were skill comes to play. Not only to know were they are but how to counter them. Knowing rotations of spawns and points like in hard point.
How long a match last does not reflect it's a better team based game. Bf has huge maps. This can add to the time. To me bf is just like cod but a slower pace. Because of the slower pace and big maps what you accomplish in 10 min takes in cod takes an hour to accomplish the same thing in bf.
But we all have our opinions.
One thing I like though with bf which socom for playstation did I think socom 3. Is that it has huge maps which can be shrunk down if playing with a couple people.
And csgo has many short and fast games as well.
