Is there any reason to actually buy BO2 over BO1?
any real reason to buy black ops 2 over black ops 1 considering BO1 has dedicated servers on game tracker just like COD 4?

Which online player base is likely to fail first? Advanced warfare threatens BO2 online player base but not BO1 because in BO1 you can copy and paste the IP address from a 24/7 nuketown server on game tracker and you are sure you will be placed in the server you want exactly like how its done in COD 4, instead of being forced to wait for match making like Bo2.

Can you even get to select the 24/7 servers like 24/7 nuketown in Bo2?

I am thinking twice of buying BO2 now because I have a gut feeling advanced warfare might threaten and kill off BO2 online player base and without dedicated servers I fear it may become a $60 paper weight.

BUT then I consider modern warfare 2 which is played more than BO1 right now as we speak and MW2 does not even have dedicated servers.

I dunno but I think BO1 might be a better buy than BO1 I really prefer the prettier looking assault rifles with fancier red dots scope in BO2. In BO1 its an ugly round circle red dot that does not look impressive looks 1960s

i think mw2 does better because there are a ton of hackers still on that game and nothing being done. so they can go back to that game and play. i find more servers with bo1 and bo2 for myself.

not saying there is a reason for bo2 over bo1. i thinks its better ported over. bo1 on both my computers (one i lost in a house fire) but both would see a drop in fps each time a new map started. my lost computer would get drops down in the 15 fps and last 30 sec to a minute before it would go up to 60+fps. my newer computer (which i had on me at the time of fire) would get a drop for 5-10 seconds however it would not effect the gameplay because i would get the drop to like 60 or 70 fps. my older laptop had a GTX 9800, and a dual core. my newer laptop is a i7 with a GTX 560.

BO2 would play fine on both. no issues. i play bo2 now or cod4. bo2 has dedicated servers just not the browsing type. so you get match made like mw2/3 but instead of picking someone to be a host, it puts you into a dedicated server.

i like the graphics and all that bo2 has for weapons, maps, killstreaks etc. it has training mode which you can play online and accumulate xp just at half the xp. and you can also set up custom games which friends can join that way if you have enough on. as well as set it up for bots. i believe up to 11 bots. so that is something i like for those times i want to play like i am playing online but not against ppl. or those times when i want to try a new weapon and stuff out. i can throw on a custom map and test.

hackers i dont see them that often. some good players sure, and maybe cheating. but hard to tell. i just assume they are good then. you can look up videos and see some good players. there are pro xbox players that i know for sure like scumpi and nadeshot from optic gaming, and some others from optic as well as other clans that compete like envy, faze, etc. so if they are good and can easily go 30-3 or so in a game on xbox with others who play xbox. i am sure there are the same on pc. and if we were on the receiving end most would cry hacker/cheater unless you new who they were. just saying.

bo2 is so much better than bo1

^^ hey cad 80_99 thanks you have convinced me to buy black ops 2. Performance is defenitely one issue to take into consideration so I will be buying BO2. I also dislike the red dot scope in Bo1 it looks really ugly like a uninspired circle opening out like a V attaching to the gun.

And eeeew the guns are pretty ugly compared to BO2. And from what I have seen, black ops 2 even with advanced warfare out still has not lost its player base. Infact since advanced warfare came out the BO2 player has grown a little bit for some unknown reason.

I also would prefer the new visual effects of BO2 as I have a PC HD 4870 while its only DX 10 I would be buying a new card soon anyways. And besides this card can enable all the features of BF3 anyways so should have no issues turning on all the visual effects of BO2.

So this settles it shall get BO2. Also I know for a FACT that all the modern warfare games can be pirated for online use, its the biggest downfall of MW series if you ask me. This is what brings in the hackers by the droves as banning does nothing. I only learn about this recently and have seen it in action how they do it, so I am staying far far far away from MW series this is not acceptable at all and pure laziness of infinity ward.

Also I am watching youtube videos of all BO2 maps and they look really nice. I am seeing stuff like Los Angeles map and Aircraft Carrier etc this is something I never liked about BF3 and all other COD games. I hated the look of the map the settings and locations that is, it never had anything in USA. I like stuff in public places in the US like malls and train stations etc

The music in BO2 is so much more modern also, I hated COD 4 music was so boring and old like soldier of fortune 2 double helix. BO2 looks like the modern arcade shooter for me

If 'twas a toss up between BO1 or 2, I'd go for 2 because it's newer, better optimised, the maps and gameplay are great and also, the singleplayer campaign rocks. It's got everything BO1 has only more (dedicated servers aside)! A lot of players say it's the best CoD ever and I don't think it's going to die any time soon.

Yeah, some of the music is atmospheric - made by proper composers. I love the synth music that plays when Raid and Hijacked maps are loading. It reminds me of Jean Michelle Jarre!

Yeah the carrier is one of my fav maps. But they all are good. I don't own any dlc maps. The biggest frustration i get is unloading a clip in someone and they turn and kill me. But then I know I have probably done the same as well. Just cause the game does the whole lag comp.

But as you play you get better as well as unlock things.

Like i said. I enjoy it also for the custom game and playing against bots. Bo1 had it but it was a rank system of it's own. And I prefer bo2 were everything is unlocked. This way if I want to try something new I can test it prior to playing against others. Plus the game only allows 10 slots for things such as attachments, nades, secondary, perks etc. but custom game to have some fun you can allow 17.

black ops 1 is great for the storyline but black ops 2 is great for online.

^ hi well yeah I am buying for strictly online alone. So I suppose BO2 is for me. From what I have seen if modern warfare 2 can last so long then no reason black ops 2 should not. I mean just look at Ghosts it has a lot less players than BO2 as we speak so seems like BO2 is the winning formula here.

wow so I just played Black Ops 2, decided to give it a try out to see how it runs on my system and hot damn!!!! runs smooth as butter on everything max except shadow to medium and AA off but on 1080p offcourse. This game is really optimized wow!!!

And woot the graphics are really good like how they has HDR now finally.

And its so futuristic man and the music for the loading is really damn good LOL

Amazing can't wait to buy this game but I wonder do you get all weapons and attachments unlocked? and if not how long does it take to unlock everything? I can see why this is the number 1 played COD online well has been before AW

there's not enough unlock tokens to get every weapon, perk, killstreak, and equipment item when going from level zero to max, so getting prestige master is the only way to truly get /everything/ unlocked at the same time.

the upside to this is that you don't lose any progress towards leveling up weapons and unlocking camos/challenges when you prestige; it only locks the weapons until you reach the level required to use them.
once you unlock a weapon again, it's still at the same level as it was before, and has all the attachments you had unlocked prior.

all of the weapons in the game are completely viable (yes, even the judge), so you'll probably find yourself picking up a few new weapons and maxing them out each time you run through the leveling process.

as for time?
it took me ~130 hours to hit prestige master from scratch with an average score per minute of ~460

Leveling up depends on how good you are, as well as gametype. If play FFA you won't level up as fast as domination or hard point or whatever else. You get more xp for capturing points as well as defending them.

You don't start out with everything unlocked. But if you do custom game then everything is available. Plus you can use 17 items instead of 10. I do 10 just cause it's what you get while online. But now and then 17 is fun to maximize things lol.

One reason I loved cod over battlefield. Was even your starting weapons are decent. Seems bf has it so as you rank you gain advantage. Yes rank should have it's privilege but not as much as bf. I like that cod is more for skill. If you are good at fps. You can start out doing well.

Thanks guys I am so excited. I downloaded the free version of BO2 just to try out the single player campaign but will have to purchase it to play online obviously so just waiting for thanks giving. Infact I am glad I downloaded it and tried it out I had fear it would not run on my system like a bunch of morons told me right here on steam forums.

They say no way my haswell Pentium G3220 and HD 4870 would ever run BO2. But I am glad they were clueless as I get anywhere from 40 to 100 FPS in BO2 on this system with everything on max except AA and Shadow turned to medium which I don't even need to begin with. And honestly I much prefer the graphics of BO2 it looks way better than other COD games. This game runs like a dream compared to battlefield 3.

Because I think BO2 was the first COD game to use HDR right? Does it use post processing? I wonder.

There is even more reason now for me to buy this because its clear to me this is the last and latest COD game I would be able to run on my system with butter smooth performance on High. And since I don't have money to upgrade and this runs on near max, its a done deal.

The real question is does anyone play nuketown zombies and is that even worth buying for $2.50 half price? I won't be looking for people at all as I don't have time I need something where I can jump online and play at random with the touch of one button match making

I am not a zombies fan. If you can play by self and like zombies then it would probably be worth it.

The game does not take munch. Bo1 seemed to be worse and needed better specs.

Yeah well I may avoid wasting money on zombies LOL no fan of playing by myself I prefer people. Would just buy the base game in this case for the $30 bucks. My experience with single player BO2 was wonderful I ran smooth constantly on my system so its settled I am getting bO2 no questions asked.

Blops2 is better in almost every way. It runs flawless on almost any system and graphics are way better. Blops1 has CPU leak, specially on menu.
Also 24/7 nuketown 2025/hijacked.
