That doesn't really mean anything; you don't really show what game this was in; what the IP of the host/server was. So it doesn't actually mean anything.
And that video is of Console, not PC.
Consoles use Peer to Peer, PC uses dedicated servers, and I've never seen anything that would say otherwise.
That's false, check the program bar and you see clearly that there's only BO2 (and Chrome of course) open at the moment of the screenshot. I can't post any IP cause NetdumaOS doesn't show it for obvious security reasons: if it would people could use that information to DDoS the host.
We all know that Activision doesn't care about PC so why would they ever rent dedicated servers for the only specific platform they don't care about?
And thinking about it, the p2p thing you claim is bo2, could actually be the VOIP network.
Activision cares about money, but it's treyarch that rent the servers, the servers are 24hz, and few men in said severs, considering player counts, they don't need more than a handful of servers, its dirt cheap for them to run, and people still buy the DLC, so why not leave them running?
There was also no announcement of them turning off the servers, which treyarch would announce.
Wireshark doesn't allow you to filter packets by app or by process ID so if you want to use that to find IP address of other players you have to do some workaround. At least you need to find out the port used by the app for the handshaking and so on... And there's no reason to make this even easier to ill-intentioned people.
Voice over IP as the name suggests is a network protocol that allows the transmission of audio through internet network and at most it could be used to transmit in-game voice chat, I can't see how it's linked to the "wrong" detection of the host type.

Yes, it looks like host tick rate is 24Hz but in this other screenshot too I took it still shows "Other player" as "host type". There was no official statement from 3arch about turning off servers cause (am I wrong? If so correct me) there was no official statement that they were running.
I haven't actually used Wireshark before, but if I'm not mistaken, there is a way to filter connections. (Maybe I should piss around with wireshark at some point, I've been meaning / wanting too.)
As for the statement that they were running; I'll look into it later, reply to this at some point and I'll give it a look.
But, I have never had a hosted lobby, the connection has always been consistent, and so have the pings. I've never had a host migration, so I've never had a reason to doubt that there wasn't dedicated servers.
Still, I'll give it a look.
I have never seen a host migration on PC, now and in the past. Have you seen it on PC?
