I recommend to download the program, underclock your video card a bit and see if the problem still occurs....if it doesn't, problem solved ;)
That sounds like an unstable card. Is it overclocked?
I haven't overclocked it and it's not labeled as a factory OC model. The card itself works well under heavy load and no other game crashes like this. Come to think of it, this card has not crashed a single time with any other game or software apart from American Nightmare.
This is pretty much no longer a real issue to me, because I was able to complete the game with no more crashes.
