File IO error

Whenever I try to launch the game it gives me:

File IO failure: createDirectoryFailed, error code 2

C:\Users\Benim-PC\DOCUME~1\Remedy\AmericanNightmare\

this error.I managed to open first game with writing a xml file called resolution but guess it can't solve this one.(Also tried to open with admin and did the integrity thing.)


Any solutions? Thanks

Disable your antivirus and/or Windows Defender and/or Windows ransomware protection. It's usually one of these preventing some games from saving to My Documents.

Once you've found the culprit, add the game to your exception list.

In Windows 10:

Windows Security -> Virus and Threat Protection -> Ransomware protection

There, you add the game as an exception, allowing it to access protected folders.

It worked for me ;)
