Falling through the map into my death repeatedly

I played through Alan Wake and had a glitch a few times where I would fall through the map.

Now with American Nightmare, it happens every few minutes. I spend more time restarting the game than I do playing it. Anyone else having these issues?

Been a while since I have played, but try looking at V-sync settings, if not in the game then in nVidia control.

This will stop the bug from occuring? The game is showing no screen tearing.

Doesn't matter, it depends how the games runs it's internal timers and alot of other stuff I don't quite fully understand enough to explain.
I remember pnumbra? I couldn't progress through a duct with V-sync on, it was an internal timing glitch with in the game. Turned it off, progressed though.
