Can't connect to a friend for a internet game

So, i know the game is borderline dead and I will probably not get a solution - but.
I have what internet calls "Symmetric Nat Router" it caused problems with GameRanger, P2P connections, and it seems it causes issues here too.

Is there ANY way I could fix this and play with a friend?
Tried disabling firewall - but that did not do anything.

Well, workaround I found was using OpenVPN with host as close to my country as possible - ping went up only to around 70ms, still playable.

Ah ok, that might be the solution for your issue instead of just a work around but i'll bring it up anyways.

Yeah, unfortunately it's common with my ISP - they give almost 0 control over the router and settings.
Thus the symmetric nature of the router - the real one is on their side and what they plug in for me is just a proxy.
It has issues with Hamachi too, basically allowing only specific set of people to connect directly to me, even via external programs, but it seems a UDP based OpenVPN profile works for Demigod,

But if it is something that *could* potentially be fixed or has another work around, I'd love to hear it.

Hi everyone)

We have a group with 6 Gemidog players, But, we have a lot of problems with connection to a hosting room. It will be a great success if everyone manages to connect to each other.

We have to spend 30 minutes for everyone to be able to connect to each other in the room, repeating rehostings and reconnections.

I and my friends, will be very happy if you help to find the decision for us.

Thank you guys! Turn on VPN with nearest Europe county helped me!

GameRanger works only with VPN too, otherwise I have had the same problems when just try rung game from Demigod multiplayer window
