Missing Lockpick?

Every single time I've tried playing this game, I get to the bit where you open the evidence locker and my lockpick set disappears. I've tried looking for patches or help of any kind but there's none coming. Can anyone help me out?

Maybe try using the lock pick set before opening the evidence locker. You have to use the lock pick set on a filing cabinet in a room behind the bar at Toni's shop, Scoop. In case you haven't done that yet, to get Toni out of the shop, play the Swap A Lot machine at the back wall. You don't have to play the whole game, you just have to play it long enough to hear a delivery truck's horn beep from outside the store, then Toni will leave.
When Toni leaves, go behind the bar, and pick up a key on the floor, under the cabinet on your left. Turn right, and use the key to open the door, and use the lock pick set on the filing cabinet on the right. If you haven't got the lock pick set at this time, go call Nancy (make sure you've examined the filing cabinet first, though), and she'll leave her lock pick set in the drop box for you, at the Police Station, to pick up. Then you just go through the same procedure to get into the door behind the bar again, and use the lock pick set on the filing cabinet. You can try figuring out how to do it from the lock-picking book that's in a drawer in Nancy's room (you should probably take a picture of it with your phone, so you can look it it while you're picking the lock, cause it's too hard to remember), but in case you need help, just go into this link, the first 2 minutes in the vid has the solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7CA2ZXSeSE

I think that you may have misunderstood me. It's Nancy's lockpick set that goes missing when I retrieve her phone and other things.

Hmm, I've done the story before, and the lock pick set has never disappeared for me. Maybe you have to only unlock the evidence locker at a specific point in the game, or something. Here's a link to the walkthrough of the game, it tells you at what point in the game you have to unlock the evidence locker, and get the lock pick set. This is one that I've used before and even when I followed it to a T, the kit disappeared

It's alright, I've tried looking for patches or something because something like this happened with another game but I managed to patch that. Unfortunately I've had no luck

im having the same issue! were you able to continue the game without the lockpick? really don;'t want to restart the entire game

I wish. I think I was able to use everyone else's (I think) but I can't remember if it was just Nancy's that disappeared or everyone else's. TBH I haven't played that game in forever just in case that is the case and it means I have to start again. I am so sick of that opening

I'm late to reply so this is probably useless but have you checked to see which character you picked up the lockpick with? For example, if you pick it up with Ned, you can't use it if you're playing with Bess or George.

The evidence locker requires Detective Ryan's key, not the lock pick set.
Ned, Bess, or George should be able to get a lock pick set from Nancy's bedroom or Nancy has to place it in the drop box. I'm not entirely sure which. The lock picks are only used on a filing cabinet later on.

I picked it up with Nancy and it's alright, I've managed to fix it.

It was missing from Nancy's POV and it's alright. I've managed to fix it.

I was going to use the cheat menu but it turns out that I didn't actually need to. It appeared all of a sudden.

Was this ever resolved? I would try uninstalling the re-install the game
