Every single time I've tried playing this game, I get to the bit where you open the evidence locker and my lockpick set disappears. I've tried looking for patches or help of any kind but there's none coming. Can anyone help me out?

I have a windows 8 and i bought MANY things frm steam in the past that never worke. Will this game work has any other Windows 8 users had problems please help! I dont want to waste money on another game that doesnt work!

I got this game for the steam summer sale and when ever I try to play (I have a mac) it an error message saying "cider has unexpectedly quit" and the game does not open. I have another nancy drew game that I got from steam that works just fine. I have tried reinstaling the game and steam itself I have put in a ticket over a week ago with no reply from steam support. If anyone has been able to solve this issue please let me know...
