PSA: Force vsync through GPU Control Panel, in game vsync setting possibly causing hitches

So I think the game's vsync setting is a little funky, it seems to cause some occasional frame pacing weirdness.

More testing is probably needed to be sure of this so don't take this as gospel. Still, it did seem like I was getting occasional hitches with it on that I wasn't with it off.

Thankfully, forcing vsync through Nvidia Control Panel (https://digistatement.com/how-to-disable-or-enable-vsync-in-nvidia-control-panel/) for the game seems to smooth it completely 🙂 Again, more testing probably needed to be sure but it did seem to help

I'd still recommend having Vsync turned on in game, as with it off the menus and cut scenes are locked to 60fps. Thankfully the control panel setting should completely override the game's vsync otherwise

PS: On Steam Deck, I'd turn in game vsync off. From a quick test, that seemed to produce the best result there.

Open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition > select the "Gaming" tab > Select Sonic Superstars > "Wait for Vertical Refresh" > "Always on"

I remember triying this and it didn't work but limiting the game to 60 fps through nvidia control panel does get rid of the fps drops but I had to put up with suffer screen tearing.

IIRC vsync was necessary in order to properly rev the spin dash. The spin dash input polling rate seemed to be tied to the framerate or something and if you didn't have it on the game would miss your taps.
