Literally the only reason I have Sonic 4 episodes 1 and 2 is because they came bundled otherwise I'd never had touched it, literally the only sonic games I've played that I actually hate and I'm saying that as someone that actually enjoyed 06.
Here's the thing, I do get the desire to curb piracy, especially during a game's opening months where the majority of sales occur. Square Enix is a pretty good example: They often put Denuvo in their new releases, but I don't really complain about them because, 9 times out of 10, they eventually remove it.
Sega meanwhile keeps it in perpetuity. Hell, they have Denuvo in Yakuza 7 despite the game both being cracked AND having a DRM free release on GOG. At a certain point you can't claim you're keeping it to stop piracy, and all it's really doing is annoying paying customers and ensuring that, once Denuvo goes the way of SecuROM, the games with it will be unplayable.
At the end of the day Sega has the numbers themselves and if it really cost them sales and money then they wouldn't do it.
There's still the fact that they're keeping it for an indefinite period. If they want to use Denuvo, then fine; Remove it after a few months to a year like everyone who's not UbiSoft. What's the point to keeping it in games like Sonic Forces that have been out for over half a decade? What's even the point to keeping it in this game? If someone wants to pirate Sonic Superstars, the Switch version exists and is easy to emulate. It's not stopping anything, it's just punishing paying customers and ensuring that one day the legitimately purchased copies will be completely unplayable.
anyone know what the update is then?
I recall one bug I had where if I died, my framerate would drop and stay dropped until I alt-tabbed, would be nice if that was fixed
This is the only comment that seemed to know.
Ah I see, couldnt see that comment between all the spammy arguing
Well that sucks, was hoping for some bug fixes or at least remove denuvo
