As someone who has done a little downhill I will say that while this is very arcade-y, it felt more like the real thing than I would have thought. The root-shooting mechanic was tricky at first but once I got the hang of it it did feel similar to slingshotting around corners using inertia. The trickiest part is that by nature of how low you are to the ground and how the courses are designed, in some places it can be difficult to gauge the duration of your root-shooting because you don't know what's coming ...

I was excited to try this, but all i found was sluggish control which wasn't fun to actually play. I'd rather have steering authority than using a weird tree grapple mechanic.

releasing a demo in this state is actually worse for you game than not releasing one at all. I'd suggest taking it down and working on the game until it's actually fun, controls well and plays in an intuitive way.
