Multiplayer? Or trick to do multiplayer?
I want to buy Galactic Civilizations II: Ultimate Edition (and will probably do this, it's like at -66% price now), but I would be glad to play this with my friends.

I don't care if one person needs to wait few minutes every time the other one it taking it's turn : s-\he can read a book or do 1000 other things in this time, so argument, which I heard few times, that it would take too long to play multi, is invalid for me.

Some people can spent months playing chess or other games by sending letters, I can spent 20-30 hours to play Heroes of Might and Magic III scenario with someone on Hot Seats, etc. so why someone couldn't play a game because it is just long?

Okay, back to the topic, is there really no multiplayer? Maybe there are some mods or cheats? Or you can enforce Hot-Seats' like gameplay or something? Is there really no way?

I will probably buy game no matter what, especially after very fruitful experiences with MOO1 (Master of Orion), but I would be glad to play it with someone else, even if it would be a long way around.

No multiplayer. The game would be too long as it can be very long now. The computer AI does not cheat, it actually plays the game as you would, or maybe a lot better depending. The normal game can vary, but the only thing this game had was a place for high scores like called the Metaverse, but since it came out with this version in 2009 and originally in single issue type games in 2006 and on (all of it in the Ultimate Edition) then many people have long since not played the game anymore.

There is still the Gal Civ II forum and website to go to also, and some answers are still given by a few people (maybe one or two or so) but the game plays well, and I think Gal Civ III will have multiplayer. That can be all looked up on the web.

although Ultimate Edition is there also, many, many people had bought the individual versions prior to it coming out and already had the game.

In multi-player, players quit and do not finish for various reasons also, and the game can be long, short with some scenarios and such. Not needed in this game.
