Enabling and Using Cheat Codes in GC2: UE
According to these discussion boards here, in order to cheat in GC2: UE, you go to the game in your Steam library, right-click it, left-click on Properties, click on Set Launch Options..., then type in the word cheat.

The cheat codes for GCs: UE are:

Ctrl-P Adds 1 to Selected Planet Class
Ctrl-M Adds 10,000 bcs
Ctrl-B Adds core battleship
Ctrl-J All Social Programs Completed
Ctrl-U Call United Planets Meeting
Ctrl-C Clones selected ship
Ctrl-R Completes current research
Ctrl-H Heals selected ship
Ctrl-S Save Game
Ctrl-T Teleports selected ship to cursor

------------

The problem I am having is that none of this actually works. Ctrl-P is already assigned in the game to the auto-governor; Ctrl-M turns the music on and off; etc.

Does anybody actually know how to utilize the cheat codes in GC2:UE?

Thanks!

Go to the game folder and make your own short cut and add cheat to that. Works for me.

Thanks, Altam. I tried that, but there are only two files that I see in that folder (maybe I am looking at the wrong ones): GalCiv2.exe and GC2Launch.exe. Adding 'cheat' to them or their shortcuts only loads Dread Lords (where the cheat codes work fine) or the Ultimate Edition (where Ctrl-M and Ctrl-P are already used by the game). Any other suggestions?

Look in the Twilight and dark avatar folders. Each expansion has its iwn executable.

Thanks. So which executable is for the Ultimate Edition?

This topic is very old, but since this game is revitalized a bit and people are searching for it, and this never got an answer:

From the wiki: Note that if you're trying to cheat with Galactic Civilizations: Ultimate Edition, the exe you'll need to create a shortcut to is named "GC2TwilightOfTheArnor" inside the Twilight folder.
