City limit
Can you build more than 10 cities? The city limit is extremely restrictive.

Probably, I know you can get up to like 7 by the iron age, but keep in mind cities get pretty huge and they are a lot more complex than in other games. Managing one city in this is probably like managing 4 or 5 in Civ.

They expand quite fast, don't think about this game as a "civ clone" where spamming cities is a strat, it doesn't really work like that.

In other words, I haven't yet come to a point where I was thinking "Oh man, I REALLY need two/one/three more cities to get X plot"

You can have 8 with Empire government i believe. If you build a palace thats +1 and there are wonders that give you +1. Really Cities are more like States in this game

After several hours of playing, a few cities are not enough for me. I've optimized production. I'm good at micro-managing, and the game is enjoyable for me in this regard... but 8-10 cities are too few for me. I understand this limitation; there are players whose heads would explode from managing so many cities, but I would like to see an option to set the maximum number of cities.

Yeah, I get what you mean, just drop your suggestion about putting a max cities slider or something in the dev's thread, they seem to be receptive about suggestions.

If you want to mod the number, you can change the text file, Governments.zdata and ther's a line that says .uiProvinceCap = N were N is a number. You can make that any number you want.

Scale the city limit with the map size?

Still on my first play through and I've got 11 without penalties.

Didn't change governments but kept the one with highest city allowance.

Too many but I want to play this to the end.

Should make the next game a lot easier ...

I guess I still have the Civ mentality.

Plus I like war.

I had 17 on my first win. When you wage war on a city, just keep it.

So you managed satisfaction ok? No ill effects?

Where can this file be found, I did a search for it and came up blank?

Can you make this a game setting in the future please? I mean many people are not comfortable modifying their files.

Personally not sure if I do or don’t want more cities just seems like more settings at the beginning help people get closer to the type of game they want. Thanks.
