No. A mandatory turn limit isn't a "feature," lack of options like this usually come down to priorities and getting the game out at a certain point, and it looks like these devs are open to criticism and suggestions. I have full confidence they will add an option to remove the turn limit in the near future.
Yeah, I want the option but, for context, unless I'm mistaken, I think in Civ VI a Marathon paced game was 1500 turns. So this is pretty close to that. It's pretty lengthy (imo anyhow.) Still prefer the option and hope they will consider implementing it, but it also doesn't destroy the experience or anything for me. (Inb4 "you don't even own the game" - I'm playing on PC game pass to try it out and if I experience stability and enjoyment after a few games I'll happily support with a purchase.)
