Manual saves or checkpoint saves?

Quick question: does this game use manual saves (i.e. let's you save when and where you want) or does it limit you to checkpoint saves?

It has both. It saves automatically at certain points, but you can also save manually. Mine keeps the auto-save and manual save separate, which I like.

Unless this has changed (haven't played for a while), even with a manual save what it saves basically *is* the checkpoint and related progress rather than the entire world state. And this means that when you reload a saved game, the world can actually be significantly different from what you saved -- for instance, whether or not the vehicle that you took to get there is still there when you reload instead of back in the garage system.

Can you tell me which key do you use to quicksave?
