How to get the penguin for my igloo?

I now own an igloo, but unfortunately I have no idea where I can get the penguin that will live in it to catch salmon. Can someone help me?

The penguin comes in on a raft like the rest of the NCP's. Just watch for him.

You need to rescue the Zoologist from coconut island (as soon as you have built a boat you can do that). If the penguin comes to you before you have the Zoologist tell it to come back later. It will.

How can I get more than 1 penguin though? The one from the raft already lives on my deck in an igloo but I would like to have more, cause they age handy.

As far as I know you can only have one. I have never gotten another one in all my hours of gameplay.

Oh that's a bummer... Because I figured out with two you could automate fish catching.

If you set a worker to it, they will keep him fed with fish. Pretty much letting him just get the golden fish. I keep a box next to my igloo. With golden fish being put in and regular fish being put in the igloo.

Oh yeah, but it still needs your help, cause sadly only you can catch goldfish. With two penguins you wouldn't need to do that - actually you wouldn't even have to bother with catching any goldfish anymore.

First igloo: set to 'turn 3 fish into 1 goldfish' -> settlers take the goldfish to the second igloo where: 1 goldfish turn into 20 fish!
Settlers would automatically bring fish to the first igloo if you have a Scuba Station then take the goldfish to the second one - ever growing fish stack! Would come handy lol! I hope we get more penguins soon! ^^

No, the Penguin can catch Goldfish. You keep him fed with regular fish and he catches Golden one for you. Just need him an Igloo and a Zoologist.

Yeah I know that, maybe I wasn't clear, I thinking of the way to automize getting fish - which is a good resource for many things! With two igloos you could get tons of fish!

It took me a while to realize that in order to feed the penguin Sushi you first have to have a fishing pole in your inventory. Than you can catch the big salmon...
