Kiwi traits is fun, but I haven't found a way of accessing them other than catching one in flight and using the + button on the popup. As they get faster, I'm going to struggle to snag one.
It would also be handy to know how many clownfish there are - at the moment, I empty a storage box and watch to see which ones refill it.
OK, this fixed itself when I saved the game, quit and then restarted.
My latest kiwis demand to be fed, instead of catching their own. Have I spoilt them, perhaps? Not enough tough love? (Cow Island)
Heya, Kewi do not eat mice - they eat squid from the fishing village, so no you have not spoilt them haha - they should pick up squid automatically to deliver to their nests to eat if you have squid available to pick up.
Thanks for sharing this as well as the previous ones - I will look into adding a '+' button to easily add traits to kewis via the 'characters' panel that displays all kewi birds so that you don't have to select them manually as I agree they can get hard to select at fast speeds and when you get many of them!
Yes, this was odd. Since switching to experimental, the kewis on the main island are having their food replenished by my seagulls, from a storage box on the main island that I restock. There are storage boxes for squid etc on the Fisherman's Isle. However, the new kewis on Cow Island were just sitting in empty nests with a squid icon over their heads, even with a squid box right next to them - with the box in the mice's 9 square patch.
Anyway, I've solved it by using a crane, so all is well. The kewis are now fed!
Heya, glad to hear you got it working! Just to clarify or provide a tip, it is the nests that should be in the mouse house's 9-square patch range, as the mouse delivers items to those buildings that require items in its range (not supplying items) - in this case, it is the kewi nest that are requiring squid, not the storage box.
Edited typo error.
I have an error on loading my saved file with today's update. (0.74.1) I've uploaded it to my screenshots, and made it public, so hopefully you can see it.
The game still seems to run and I noticed a few things. If I bring up the Settler Panel and select the Kewis, there are a couple of small things.
1) The settler priority popup always says it for Alf, and
2) Clicking on a specific kewi line does not highlight that line, but it does bring up the right kewi popup.
1) Several of my human settlers did not survive the transition to build 0.74.1 - I thought I had 111, it says 96.
2) Nearly all my seagulls are idle , just 2 seem to be in work mode
3) I didn't realize I had so many clownfish - they must all be idle.
I'll try loading that save again and keep an eye on those numbers.
Edit: On investigation
- all my seagulls and clown fish are on strike
- all my robots have vanished
- I've lost a seagull perch so a horde are following me to other islands
- I think I've lost all human settlers who haven't acquired a trait yet.
- My kewis appear all present and correct.
Could you send a copy of your savefile (before the transition) to havendockyyz@gmail.com with those details and numbers? I will then load it on my end and see what is happening.
Edit: I'm not sure how to see your screenshots so if you could send those over in the email, that'll help too.
