Kill streak is like in AC Brotherhood. The text says, "Perform a Kill, then swiftly hit your next target by pressing LMB to kill him instantly. Continue chaining kills to earn longer KILL STREAKS." If you are trying to do the Faction Challenges then don't go beyond memory sequence 4 until you complete the kill streak challenge. See my guide (Bomb Tips & other things I discover) for greater explanation on this.
Arrow storm is only available when you have all 3 assassin signals fully charged. To call your assassins on a single group of guards just quickly press 'T'. But to perform an arrow storm press and hold 'T'. This will, as the name suggests, cause a storm of arrows to cascade down and should kill all enemies in sight. The assassin signals will have to regenerate, one by one, before you can perform another arrow storm. Also note that one of the bonuses from completing a set of Faction Challenges is that assassin signals regenerate faster.
HOOK AND RUN text says, "RUN towards the target and HOLD 'Shift' to perform a HOOK AND RUN." If you execute this sucessfully you will effectively run through the target and continue running which can be useful when trying to escape through a bunch of enemies.
HOOK AND THROW text says, "PRESS RMB + 'Shift' while an enemy attemptss an ATTACK to perform a HOOK AND THROW". I can't actually remember if it kills them or just throws them to the ground. If it kills them, then basically it's like a counter kill, but just has a different animation.
The above are from looking at the screenshots I took, but I don't have one for COUNTER STEAL. A quick look on the internet suggests it's RMB + 'E' to perform a counter steal. I don't think it matters which weapon you have selected. I think it is supposed to make an enemy more vulnerable once you counter-steal from him. It's effect is the same a searching a body once they are dead as if you counter-steal from someone and then kill them you will find you cannot perform the search action on him as you've already knicked his goodies !!
One thng to remember with the above 3 is they all have to be timed correctly to work.
You know, I think there are a lot of people who can't read the text in time before it disappears. I've spoken to two since I wrote this who say they have the same problem.
About the Counter Steal thingy, I thought it was meant to be done to a thief while he was attempting to steal from you, I just couldn't imagine how such a thing would be possible since you never actually see any animation other than the thief running away and a piece of text saying you were being stolen from (though this was in AC-II and Brotherhood while I haven't had it happen in Revelation at all; seems to have been replaced with sneak stab attacks).
Speaking of timing reminds me of when you're being held by one of your attackers and you're supposed to free yourself by tapping 'E'. I have never been able to make this work, no matter when or how many times I hit 'E', it has never worked, not even once! I've tried hitting other keys, thinking perhaps they made a mistake when writing the instructions, but it doesn't make any difference what key or key combo you hit. So when I'm being held I just wait until the guy lets go, loosing a square or two in the process but that can't be helped....Every once in a while I'll try and hit 'E' again, just to see if it'll work this time, but it never does.
Another minor curiosity about timing - have you noticed that when jumping between rooftops you have to jump a little sooner than you would in real life, otherwise you'll drop and hang from the roof instead of jumping?
I'll check out your guide. Seems there are some things about timing what you do when during and between sequences that matters for how you do overall in the game. - I'll look for the guide here on Steam first, if I don't find it here I'll Google it.
Thanks again.
It's a few months since I played Revelations, but I think the way to escape when being held is RMB + 'Shift'. Which kind of makes sense as 'Shift' is the free hand action and I guess is what you would expect to use when throwing someone off.
I think that jumping between rooftops has been a right pain throughout all the AC games. If you are already sprinting then I think it's fine as you will jump off regardless. If you are just running then Ezio will jump down if it's not too big a drop, but will grab the ledge if it is too far down.
But my biggest pain is when Ezio is walking/stood right at the edge of a rooftop and then you want to suddenly jump off. In this sutuation Ezio will nearly always just grab the ledge, rather then make the quick escape I was after. You then have to climb up, move away from the edge and then adjust the camera angle before you can sprint and jump off... Pain !!
Further to your comments on my guide, the tried and trusted method of throwing guards into scaffolds also still works. Glad you found the guide useful - getting Mehment's Dagger is something to aim for early as I think I spent most of the rest of the game using it as my main weapon of attack.
