Need Help Completing Faction Challenges

So, I'm trying to get a few faction challenges done, but some of these things seem nearly impossible. Primary example is the Thief Faction's "Perform a 30m Dive" challenge. I've read strategy guides on how to do this, but I'm at the point where I need to leave for Cappadocia (I haven't actually left yet). A full list will be provided as to which challenges I'm stuck on. (I've already completed the Romani Faction challenges, which actually aren't too tricky).

Mercenary Faction:
Kill an Enemy with a thrown Weapon (How the hell do you throw a weapon?! D: )
Perform a combo kill streak of at least 5 kills (I've gotten to the point where I need to get 2 sets of guards to do so. IS THERE A WAY TO MAKE THIS EASIER WITHOUT INVOLVING THE DAMN JANISSARIES?! ;-; )

Thief Faction:
Perform a 30m Jump (Already mentioned my problem with that.)

Please Note: I have read the guide for the 30 Meter Jump, and even an FAQ page that mentions mashing the "Legs button" to acquire it, but How in all ungodly holy hell am I supposed to know what button is meant by that? (I'm using a controller hooked into my computer for gameplay, so mentioning something about the keyboard is not helpful.)

I haven't got so far yet, but in brotherhood you could throw heavy weapons by keeping pressed the attack key (the x box prompt was X, if I'm not mistaken) while targeting an enemy. They are basically the same game, so I suppose it will be the same.

For the combo, just do some ♥♥♥♥ to catch the guards' attention, then start running while being followed in order to get the required amount of guards; after that, just do a counter attack and keep spamming the attack key: Ezio will start killing guards with one hit.

Well, I figured the throwing weapons bit and got that.

As for the combo kill 5x times over, it's damn near impossible for me because heavy units like Jannisaries and the Byzantine brutes (i forget what they're called, but they have the unique double-sided battleaxe) can shrug off 2 counters, which breaks the streak. Also, when I try to get the chain going, one guard or another always clobbers me with a mace or slashes me with a blade and interrupts the whole sequence and it just pisses me off.

That being said, I just thought up an idea. Use smoke bombs and others to incap the guards, then strike them each while they're incapped before they can retaliate. THANKS FOR THE IDEA!!! :D *jumps off the Galata Tower*

Kill Streak -
Mm, you're in trouble now !! I wrote a guide and I have a section dedicated to the kill streak. The important info is DO NOT complete Memory Sequence 4 prior to completing this challenge. That's mainly for the very reason you've highlighted... once past sequence 4 guard groups seem to contain at least 1 Jannisarie in each group.
But I think there's a couple ways round it. There's a mosque that you can climb up and kill all Jannisaries inside it first (Fatih Mosque in the North West). Then jump down and deal with the remaining guards.
I think the better option is to replay one of the memories from before the end of sequence 4. It's the one where you retrieve something for Sophia from the boat. As this is a memory reply it won't have the Jannisaries problem. So just run around attracting a couple groups of guards and then get to work.

30m Jump -
From memory, as I haven't done it myself on my current play through, you can easily do this from the top of a ship having climbed up it's mast. I think the ship is in the Arsenal (South of map near a view point) so is locked at the start of the game.
As for 'Legs', on a keyboard it is 'Space'. So for controller then I guess it's whatever the equivalent of what makes him run.

EDIT -
Just another thought on knowing what button 'Legs' is - Top right of the screen there are 4 action buttons, 'Legs' is the bottom action.

Found this comment on another thread, "pressing A, or space if you're on a keyboard", so by the sounds of that then 'A' is the controller equivalent to Space (or 'Legs') !!

Fortunately for me, I've got 100% on all the first 4 AC games before. So on my current re-run through them all I've just mainly done is the storyline stuff. Picked up flags and stuff as I saw them, but didn't go out my way to get them all. I completed the Brotherhood main story but stats gave me a figure of just 67% complete for the whole game !!

The one Revelations faction challenge that is the biggest pain, and many have struggled with it, is in the bomb challenges where you have to use every bomb combination twice.

I thought I read your guide before. I think it was for the same purpose as before, but i can't remember off hand.

For the killstreak problem, that's what i figured. Damn Janissaries seem to be a problem, and even with Cappadocia, the brutes with the double-axes present the same problem.

As for the 30M dive, I tried yammering the A button, and it didn't seem to work. (I did jump from the top of a mast in the Arsenal). I may just go back to the boat part in in Sequence 4 and try from that, but I'm not sure if that'll work. I know the option for "Jump" or "Leap of Faith" or something of that matter should show up if you have a safe spot for it, but who knows. :P

Took a few attempts, but I did it !! I did it from the very top of the mast, where you trigger the book memory. As I say, it took a few tries. All I can say is I had to be very, VERY quick on the double-Space press.
