Game Theory: Is Wilhelm Strasse the Führer?
This is something that I've been wondering for a while. What do you think?

Anybody who has studied World War 2 history knows that one of the reasons Adolf Hitler lost was due to himself. He wasn't a really good general, yet he refused to listen to his generals and instead listened to his ego. As Germany started to lose the war he actually listened less and less!

Hitler prefered giant rediculous tanks, and other nonsense due to his 'bigger is better' philosophy (Captain America 1 actually does his views of stuff like tanks and cars correctly). Hitler would've never accepted Strasse's ideas or robots even as he was on the verge of dying...

Unless of course Strasse did a coop sometime during the creation of his robots..

I don't know if I can find the interview, but MachineGames said they were trying to distance The New Order as far as they could from Wolfenstein 2009 since they thought Activision did a poor job.

And only a few charactrers were transfered from Wolf 2009.
I read that interview... they said one thing and did another. They even explain Deathshead's new personality as a result of him surviving the Zeppelin crash from Wolf 2009. They actually seemed to go out of their way to make sure the player realizes that this is part of the same continuity as Wolf 2009.

When Bobby Bram is driving B.J. to the London Nautica a German soldier checks their papers and sends them off with a "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥." That makes me think that Hitler is still alive in New Order.
That could easily be just old habit/tradition. Since Hitler was the original leader and such. It could be that Hitler has sorta "retired" - left the leading to someone else. Since he was born in 1889 and the game is set in 1960 he would be 71. However the Wolf wiki states that Deathshead is 86 - 100 years old, so simply old age isn't the reason here.

That would make sense, since Deathshead's face is kind of messed up, like tissue damage and healing messed up. Continuing on the Wolf wiki; it states that Deathshead is 84 - 85 in Wolf 2009. So the new order does continue from Wolf 2009, after snooping the wiki for a while, I found this:

"In the mission the castle, Strasse has a painting of himself in the dining hall, rather than a picture of Hitler. This seems to indicate that he views himself higher than the Fuhrer. In a letter to Heinrich Himmler in RTCW Strasse mentions Heinrich being misled by individuals whose mental competence must be called into question, this may be a reference to Hitler's mental state as well."

So say in 1946 when Deathshead compound is a good and viable target since Deathshead is obviously playing a big role in the nazi success (this is also hinted at in the wiki). After WW2 Hitler passes the power over to Deathshead, due to his own mental state/Deathshead accomplishments for the reich/a coup. Fast forward to 1960, big metal/mechanized soldiers all over everywhere, old habits of Hitler remain and Deathshead continues to make his experiments. Deathshead doesn't refer to himself as the fuhrer but he might not need to since everybody recognizes him as the leader. I'd like to think that Deathshead isn't the fuhrer, but he is the head of the Reich.

I noticed this in the game, and no, I don't think Strasse was the Fuhrer.

What was weird is that the game NEVER mentions him by name. Hitler is never spoken or written anywhere, just "our Fuhrer" and such. The man was vain as hell, wasn't he? How come we don't even see a single picture of him?

Besides, Strasse delivered results in spades, why wouldn't the Fuhrer let him run loose and do what he wanted?

yea hitler is alive, you find alot of pappers written about him visiting placeses.

Well, my thought is he is NOT and is actually suppose to be Adolf Himmler, Leader of the SS branch, as they were both very ruthless and murderous men. Now this game is based around if the Ghost Army failed to do it's job and D-day failed, the war would be expanded, most likely more than 3 months where there would be a major break through for german war efforts as they planned the first stealth jet, bombing NYC. With the nation's morale raising and Americans decreasing, limiting Robert on the threat of Soviet spies, atomic bomb never made, and this is, hypothetically, where the events take place

I think Hitler is still alive and in power during this game. Deathshead is probably just a very high ranking person. Hitler is just never seen or mentioned (he is actually mentioned once, but whatever) because that would probably cause controversy like it did back with Wolf 3D. That's just what I think, though.
