Orcs Must Die! 3 is multiplayer-only, free-to-play

Part 3 is called Orcs Must Die! Unchained. It's a free-to-play multiplayer game with lanes, minions, heroes and all that stuff from Dota and LoL. There will be booster packs to buy and a founder's program - 150 euros gets you instant alpha access. German website PC Games has the scoop including some pictures and a first trailer.

Depends on time and who you play with. If nobody pays money, you can all accrue stuff at generally the same time, no shortcuts.

but it something people have too keep in the back of their mind when buying a f2p game which is not free at all to begin with and then it goes on to have microtransactions

i know they are not the only ones doing this, but is sad to see them do this

knowing that they can make loads of money just buy doing regular thing, why go there where u charge for f2p up to $150 and you then add microtransactions that are more then decorative...

i personally will most likely get it once i know exactly what im in for and the quality of the game. but its something people have to consider


also i went to their forums they are pretty dead and not that many players which is bad sign for f2p game, dungeon defenders 2 appears to be much more happening. which is sad since omd1/2 were great games. sadly omd2 its always very hard to find people to play with cause of them not having game browser... now they have match making system, but f2p/p2w which sucks when u consider u actually have to pay at least $20 to get in :(

just finished my first game and its amazing much better than omd1/2 (ok 1/2 were great) but this early access is amazing, much better than any other early access ive ever played. rock solid gameplay, so far it feels like release quality gameplay... was shocked just how well it ran. plays, looks, sounds, runs great! the only thing is you wait forever for a match... so the only thing the game needs now is more players! hopefully it will be on steam soon and full of omdu players!

To me it looks like League of Legends but with traps instead of towers. The guy who can spend the most will win. Well done on ruining the OMD franchise Id say. Unless you have 100€ to burn, I wouldn't bother with this one.

its very much omd. u get gold as u play which u can use to build more and more traps and deploy / upgrade more and more missions

so its not like u need anything going in. u can only build so much regardless of how much u have

the gold is basically there to let u unlock characters and such. i didnt see it really made difference while i played with others

what really made a difference was they dont have autobalance it appears so if someone drops on one side and it becomes too unbalanaced (uneven) its over for the side with fewer players

the same for players that afk if one side has too many players afk its game over for that side and its not like u can kick them

so they need vote kicking, players to join as the match plays out so that people who leave can be replentished and they need to add autobalance

so that is what they basically need the game is solid as far as i could tell runs really well. i wish all the other early access i had worked thsi great. it runs better than many 1st days releases right now. so they know how to code... the thing is they need to add autobalance, voting system to kick and join while game in progress

also would be nice for players to have way to drop gold ingame or give gold ingame to other players so u can help out weak players... like u can in killing floor...

Not sure that OMDU game will be on Steam. It works under Gameforge platform. Valve has DoTA 2 on Steam and will not allowe similiar game here...
