Dark and Darker

Why is there such a high demand for iron ingots ?
Personally, I don’t mind—it allows me to make quite a bit of gold. But I can’t help wondering who would buy 5 iron ingots for 900 gold.
As far as I know, the crafts that require iron aren’t really worth making; it’s usually better to just buy the items directly from merchants.

Can someone explain?

Lockpicks are mandatory for deep HR runs.

Yeah lockpicks are like 100 gold each so 300 gold for a stack, I take 2 or 3 lockpicks every time I go into HR, must have if you want to max AP and loot

It's one of those nice things where a newer player can hop into GC and maybe get some iron ore uncontested, then sell it for a relatively high profit to a much more experienced, richer player.

ie, tickle-down economics but actually real.

You can make a *lot* of gold for little (might have to fight a guy or 2) to no effort at all by just mining GC and leaving through the gate that spawns or get a little more brave and mine the middle section too. Copper is used for Copperlight gear, Iron for Lockpicks which are mega high demand, and then obviously Cobalt gear as well, you'll never run out of buyers and it's consistent.

I streamed myself doing this for a good couple of hours and I think I might have had to fight 4 people in total. I went in as Bard for the increased interaction speed and free unlocking of chests if I get spawned on the opposite side of the map. Couldn't be easier.

But why not buy the lockpicks directly? According to my calculations, it's more cost-effective to buy them outright rather than purchasing ingots to craft them.

Currently, on the market:

3 lockpicks cost 170 gold, meaning around 56.67 gold per lockpick.
5 iron ingots cost 700 gold, so 140 gold per ingot.
1 ingot crafts 2 lockpicks, making the cost per lockpick 70 gold.
Moreover, the price of ingots generally fluctuates between 800 and 950 gold for 5 ingots, which would further increase the crafting cost of lockpicks.

At these prices, buying lockpicks directly is a much better deal than crafting them from ingots.

its because while they appear to make features to make the game ui easier to manage, such as the market search button, some top cuck in the office tells them the game sucks and to keep the deal with investors who pay for the servers they need to show a certain amount of game time played by all players, so keeping us out of the dungeon and ruining the market and making the vendors ui unmanagable keeps us in the game longer, until we figure out they want us to get bloodclots in our legs and just avoid the game for a while unless playing under 25 goblins, the only fun thing other than arena (and they know people only want to play that so they dont let it be available all week, a sad mistake for those here to pvp)

therefore, no one gives a ♥♥♥♥ about the market and sells EVERYTHING to vendors i mean EVERYTHING you are wasting your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time trying to get +15 more gold

forcing users to play for 500 hours each wipe just to get skins is dangerous to our health, but money is more important to the soulless bastards who run game companies, and if they had a drug to get you addicted to and kill you and take your money with these Big Pharma clone game companies would do the same. in fact, there are multiple studies about the similar effects of sugar, cocaine, and video game addicts.
